Complete failure of winter garden

Susan Garrison

This was a first for me. In October I planted turnip greens and lettuce seed, collard plants, broccoli plants, and cabbage plants. The turnip greens did fine. Everything else either died or just sat there and didnt grow. I harvested one cabbage head. I replanted the collards in late November and they did no better. My dads garden didnt fare any better. I think it was the extremely cold and wet winter. Anyone else in Northwest Florida have any luck this year? I usually start about now putting in potatoes, broccoli, cabbage, lettuce, and snowpeas, but this year I think Ill hold up for a few weeks.
