Iam - Yes, they are sweet potatoes for real. I was also amazed to see them growing in the air.

Frank - It is a learning experience, there is also a tour to the greenhouses that I will do next time and will post what I see, it should be very interesting and may I add, no bugs!

Wow! I'm quite taken by the brussel sprout trees. Are those as tall as they look? Also, what is that large hanging fruit in the picture under the one of winter melons, do you recall? It looks sort of like giant okra pods, except I know okra is not a vine...

Yes I remember the large red fruit is a casabanana and the brussels sprouts trees are that big. The pictures were taken seating on the boat tour. The okra was growing the same like the papayas by themselves, I took the picture, it is there somewhere, :)

I have seen the vegetables many times, and each time I am in awe to see them again, next time I see something different. I also like the tree tomato, the tomatoes are not that big, they are like saladette size but very abundant and they said that the plant lives for a long time there.

Hi,

My wife and I just went to Disney World and took the tour of their greenhouses. The tour is called "Behind the Seeds" and it was $14, per person, we have ever spent. I'm the gardener but she also liked the tour.

They mainly use hydroponics for growing their plants but are not limited to it.

A tour I would totally take again in a heartbeat even though it went up to $16.

Do they say that people actually eat the food?

Unlimited resources.

More useful to know: how to produce healthy food with limited resources, year after year.

Thelox - I will be taking the tour when I go next month for the Flower&Garden show, I am sure it will be interesting for me.

Noki -They did say that the food produced there goes mainly to the restaurants in the building.

Pat - If I can learn something that I can use it in my garden it is good, and if not I just like to see other type of gardens.

whgille - I am sooo jealous! I want to go for that show. We just went at the beginning of December and end of January.

noki- We actually got to try a Mickey shaped cucumber. It was so crunchy and delicious.

Thelox - I live 20 minutes from Disney and I have the Florida pass so that makes it easy. When family or friends visit I get to go again. I was at the last year's flower show, it is really nice! It is amazing what they can do with flowers, all the characters, you need the whole day to see.

A lot of the veggies and flowers are used in the park in various capacities.

It's one of the best internship opportunities on the East coast for horticulture students (paid). They have unreal facilities.

Silvia, you're too modest, do any of these folks have any idea what a fantastic gardener you are?
