Wanted: Pussy Willow (Salix discolor) as a memorial

I was wondering if anyone could give/trade me a start of a male pussy willow (and maybe some instructions on rooting it, if it isn't already)?

We lost our cat last Fall (17 years old), and we chose a lovely spot to bury her in our yard, and I think it would be nice to have a Pussy Willow nearby as a memorial.

I don't know a whole lot about pussy willows... maybe it's too cold to do a trade right now? I was thinking of potting the start and giving it some TLC at first, and then planting it when things warm up. If anyone has any suggestions, I would be very grateful.

HAVE A RABBIT'S foot rooted cutting got it at blue stone in madison ohio they are on the net GOD BLESS

Can anyone help? I sent forsythia cuttings to a Gardenweb member and was supposed to receive Pussy Willow cuttings in exchange, but they never came. :( I am very disappointed.

Does anyone have cuttings I could have/trade for?

I don't think you will be able to see one unpruned. I have one that I started with just some twigs. They grow very fast so you have to keep them pruned.

Bob Mangus Magnus ? (sorry Bob) has a 'tying' willow - one that you can tie a knot with the twigs and they don't break. Costs about $5.00 for a cutting from memory. Robyn

taupe, i have a pussy willow, but have no idea if it is male. I would be glad to send you cuttings - they root easily in water. I know how much we miss our cat. He was killed by a coyote, of all things! Please email me.
