I lost three that I had out for over a year and two that were in pots. Three larger ones were not hurt. I have been growing oleanders for 20 yrs. and have never had any trouble with them until this winter. I was told that I could not expect them to survive cold weather where I live. They are easy to root and and I will root several this spring.

I wouldn't go to the expense of grow lights. You might consider one of those 150w grow lights but if you keep it in that southfacing window, it should be okay. Just back way off on the watering and absolutely no fertilizer. Maybe get a larger tray and fill with rocks and water. Set your plant on top of the rocks. This will help provide a little humidity around the plant.

Hello Everyone!! My trees that have Seedpods are treated a little differently then the others during winter dormancy. I will keep them in my great room and reduce water. The leaves will drop off due to the change and light . They know it's time for the dormant period, so they react. I will keep an eye on those trees and give them a little drink of water ( cup or so depending on size of container) every month. The other trees are left to go into their natural dormancy. The trees with Seedpod are left alone and I don't mess with them except to keep the old leaves picked up. The seed pods will continue to grow a little, but they will Not grow like they normally do in the active growing period. My trees that are inside from the end of the month ( October) until mid April. Those Seedpods took 12 months to mature and ripen. I have had several years now with Seedpods overwintering inside the house in containers. Seedpods are not true to the parent . The only way to keep named varieties the same is by taking cuttings and rooting. The Seedpods that produce seeds, we always say " seedlings of Penang Peach" or simply Noid seedlings. THey have so many different DNA markers that you usually always have new colorations from your seedling. This is how new named varieties are created. This is a seedling of seeds from Dr Kukiat. This cultivar ( Seedpod) was from his Tropical Aurora. Insowed these seeds and I had one bloom after three years. I named my cultivar " Virginia Aurora " I will wait for three blooming cycles and then I will register it with the Plumeria Society Of America. THe Moragne collection came from a cross pollination of two cultivars . Daisy Wilcox and Scott Pratt. I believe he had around 200 seedlings and the rest is history with his named trees. Lots of great history.. i like to hand pollinated and I will over winter around 12 sets of Seedpods this year. I hope this helps.. It is pretty easy to determine how well plants might survive over winter. If you Google by botanical name, you will turn up various websites that will indicate a minimum winter zone level they are liable to survive. And because they are being grown in containers and not in the ground and therefore subject to much colder temps from the surrounding air, you want to make sure that they are listed for a hardiness zone at least 2 lower than yours. So none of your plants would have been expected to survive a "normal" zone 7 winter outdoors in containers without some sort of protection. And since you probably experienced some extreme cold earlier this winter - as did most of the east coast - it is almost guaranteed that your container plants are toast.
