I don't know what is going on or how to find out. I sent her a nice box of plants and she let me know that she got them and that's the last I heard from her! I emailed her three times. I didn't think she was the type to rip people off. I do think something is wrong or something happened to her! I wish there was a way to find out!

Same here! She sent me a email said she recieved her box on Jan 20th and said she mailed out mine. I sent several emails and have gotten no response.. I hope everything is okay!

When I finally learn to can, I think the first thing I will make will be the apple pie jam (and the blueberry Jessy sent me). It sounds so good. Those mats are great. I noticed it in the KA catalog too. What a good idea for baking with kids. I always move the cookies when the kids aren't looking too! And that book is perfect for a busy mom - with such an adorable baby.

Wow Mary! Sounds like you've been through the ringer. I must have missed the post that you got a contract. As for the property taxes, some counties bill taxes in advance, some in arrears, some half and half. For instance, when I lived in Calgary, we had to pay our property taxes by June 30th. That covered the first half of the year (so that's paid in arrears) and the 2nd half of the year (July through Dec) in advance. Here in Tucson, property taxes are due Oct. 1 for the previous year, so most is paid in arrears. They actually give us an additional break where we can pay half the amount on October 1st and the other half in March. If you don't pay half in Oct, then you must pay the full amount by January 1st and you won't be charged any late fees. So, the reason you owe taxes is probably because your county charges in arrears. It's confusing for some people because they think when they pay for them that they're paid in advance, but most are not. Check with your county on how they assess the property taxes in terms of payment, advance/arrears.

This is strange. I guess I got lucky. She did let me know that she'd received the plants I sent and did sent me a huge box loaded with belladonna & lycoris bulbs. I emailed to let her know that they arrived in good condition but she didn't respond. This was sometime in mid Jan. For some reason I think that maybe something happened, I didn't get the feeling that she was the type to intentionally rip anyone off. I have seen that a number of people didn't receive their end of a trade from her. I don't want to think that anything bad has happened but I'd also hate to think that she shafted a bunch of people either.
