Giant White Squill...Any one grow it....?

I just bought/planted three HUGE bulbs, listed as "Giant White Squill". 'Urginea maritima' was offered as the latin name. The place that I bought it from claimed that it went to Z 7...but,my web searches have implied that it is much less hardy than that. How much cold can this plant take..? How much Xtreme sun does it need? I planted these near an East wall, for protection...but they may not get enough light..? (We get hotttttt here). Anyone have experience growing these huge bulbs?

It sounds like the fish developed a bacterial infection from an injury. The best bacterial medicine is Tetracycline. It's also the ugliest. Is the fish still alive?

I think I read it will grow back from the stump. That I should wait and see a bunch come up and then cut it down to one or two shoots and let those grow? Just curious would it have worked better to try and grow it from a stump if the 'stump' was a 10' trunk?

I think you should take it out and plant a new one. Seriously, while it looks like the original leader was broken off, this tree is so young that when it is grown, this slight imperfection will disappear. When it is 15' tall you may not be able to tell there was ever a problem.
