Pros and Cons of small bulbs for underplanting Daffodils

User

I'd like to underplant a large strip of February Gold and other early daffodils with small bulbs like scilla, ipheion, or chionodoxa. The daffs start blooming in mid March here. Does anyone know which of these small bulbs will bloom together with Feb Gold? Also, I've heard some of these can be very invasive. Has anyone had that experience in Zone 7. The daffodils are in a raised rock garden above a large patch of pachysandra. If the bulbs seed, most likely the seeds will fall into the pachysandra. Thoughts? Particular varieties you'd recommend? Any other ideas for intermixing with the daffodils?
