Digging up bulbs this time of year

We are being forced to move by August 15. I have gladiolus bulbs that have mostly flowered, some freesias that are at about the same point, and some iris bulbs that put up leaves, but never flowered. Admittedly I planted them late (about mid-May).

Will I kill the bulbs if I did them up in about a week? And how should I store them? At this point we don't know where we will find a place to live or if we'll have a place to replant them. I have a few pots about 18 inches deep. Could I replant them in these?

I'd really like to loose as few plants as possible, as we're already going to lose our vegetable garden and sunflowers.
