Blood lily......pictures..

My blood lily were blooming last week. If I planted them in the ground, I probably have more babies than in the pots, but I wanted to move them around, so I planted them in pots. 18 blooms last week, and many smaller ones are coming.

wow! that's some show. Have you been growing them long? They really seem to be happy with you and their pots.

I only had one bulb for about 10 years. I gave away about 10 bulbs to 5 friends. Each of friend now have about 1/2 of what I have. Last year I gave away one big bulb to a friend and she just told me, she had 8 smaller babies come up.

Blood lily have plenty of babies each year if planted in the ground.

Gorgeous. And also bitter sweet for me for they
bring back a childhood memory. We had them around the house.
Thank you for posting the photos.

Beautiful! I have a couple blooming now too, but not as prolifically as yours. Do you fertilize them? If so, when is the right time to fertilize, and what kind do you give them?

Sun_worshiper, I am sorry for not check in sooner to answer your question.

I only give them osmocote once a year in late March. No other kind of fertilizer.

I have 2 bulbs in bloom right now, after all the big ones done with blooming.

They are so easy to take care.
