Need Advice on Soil for Dwarf Tangerine Repotting (Al??)

Hello!

I have a dwarf satsuma tangerine that needs to be repotted very badly. I have a nice big pot for it, but despite lots of reading here, still can't quite figure out what soil to use. I've read through Al's incredible threads re: the turface/granite/pine fines mix, and I'm intrigued. But also concerned because I'm afraid I won't be able to keep the plant hydrated in our hot summer months here in West Los Angeles, and also because I don't know if we have any local suppliers for the "ingredients."

So, I'm hoping some of you that have dwarf citrus in SoCal, and/or those of you who use Al's mix, could give me the benefit of your experience. What mix do you use for tangerines in containers? If you make your own mix, what's in it? Where did you find the ingredients? What fertilizers do you use?

I'm also trying to work up the courage to prune/trim the root ball if that's what's needed -- any advice on that subject is also most welcome!

Thanks so much!
