Reusing (regular) soil?

Hi all,

I have a question about what to do with the soil I grew my acorn squashes in last season. I planted 3 per 65 liter (approx. 18 gallon) container using regular potting soil mixed with a generous amount of peat and compost. I used a multi-purpose liquid fertilizer throughout the growing season. My question is, can I reuse that soil again and, if so, for what plants would it be best? Next year's crops will be more squash, swiss chard, tomatoes, pole beans, various herbs and possibly some leaf lettuce types. I sure would like to be able to reuse some of this soil rather than just dump it in the wild garden.

Thanks in advance and also for the super information already in this forum!

Susanne
