yep ... i will see if i cant find that recent post for you .. but what i would do.. first count how many long vines ... i see ... 9??? i would cut one or two back.. trace them back to were you see a tiny new bud.. and in a week to ten days.. i would cut more.. etc ... this will remove the uglies.. and rejuvenate the plant... if you thought that planting a couple plants in the center.. would cover the whole.. i think you might need many more plants ... with some planted more toward the edges ... that is for next year ... it looks awful dry.. but that might just be the mulch .. ken Here is a link that might be useful: link

Well, I've never tried gardening until this summer, so I'm still learning a lot. In June, I planted two wave petunia plants each in two separate flower boxes (iron with cocunut fiber/coir lining). The gardener where I bought my flowers said to water them thoroughly as these boxes tend to dry out quickly. So, I watched them carefully and whenever the soil looked dry and felt dry a few inches deep, I would water them. They get approximately five hours of full sun everyday, however, it is afternoon sun. The sad thing is that my petunias seem to be dying. Slowly, one by one, each petunia has done the same thing. First, the leaves appear to curl and feel sticky to the touch rather than stiff and rough like they did when I first planted them. The flowers appear to be okay, but then they begin to wilt as well. It's strange because I also have marigolds sitting behind the petunias and they are flourishing. In the beginning, the petunias were doing beautifully, while the marigolds weren't, now it's the opposite. Please let me know if this problem involves too much water/sun, too little water/sun, or bugs. I need all the help I can get. Wait a bit; I sowed petunias on 3/1, and they're just starting to germinate now. Don't know what your weather has been like, but we've been on the coldish side here; a little more consistent warmth and the petunias should begin to take off. PV

I've started collecting some seeds from my Petunias, what is the best way to start these seeds? I've put some back in the same pot where the orginal petunias where but and the seeds seem to germinate then die... I've thought about trying to put them in pots and covering them with saran wrap. I know this would raise the humidity and keep them moister. Any thoughts?
