yard swing

Hi,

I'm thinking of getting a nice yard swing (under $500) and would like your opinion/input before getting one.

1. Our yard is sunny and I think a shade canopy on the A-frame would be nice. What sort of material should I look for that's resistant to wind damage? Or is a canopy a bad idea? DH thinks the strong winds we get will rip it or worse, blow the whole swing over.

2. Would wood or metal be a better material? I'm leaning towards cedar or cypress, as we have a teak patio set. Do you have any recommendation on which manufacturer/brand ? I've seen the ones on Lowes, Home Depot and Costco websites, but they don't have any on display in their stores and I'm kinda nervous about buying furniture without parking my butt in it first.

My many thanks!
