How do you attach a trellis to vinyl siding?
Comments (3)I have a brick wall that I grow vines on. I did something similar to what Arum mentioned. I bought a few sections of lattice and painted them to match the brick so they wouldn't stand out while there was no growth on them. I think they were about 8' long and 2 or 3' wide. I stood them on the narrow end and buried about a foot underground to give it support and leaned it against the wall. They are covered with annual vines every year and look really pretty. The one thing I would have done differently is that I should have bought synthetic (plastic) lattice instead of wood because the underground part is starting to rot. It's no big deal to replace it, I'm just lazy. lol I've also seen trellises that have stakes built onto them that you can just stick in the soil. They just weren't big enough for what I wanted and the lattice was very inexpensive and easy to put up. Karyn...See MoreForcing Vinyl Siding to Color Fade
Comments (4)If it is easily reached, you might try wiping it several times with a light bleach mixture. This worked for my grandfathers siding when we had the windows replaced and the original color was exposed once they were finished. You might also hang something there if it is in a good location for a outdoor plaque, wallmounted bird feeder, etc. Here is a link that might be useful: This DIY book has often helped me....See MoreDecorating the Front Porch - Hanging 'Art' on Vinyl Siding
Comments (8)Don't know about vinyl siding hanging stuff, but I do know how to hang a really heavy weight mirror. In fact, my DH is in the process of hanging one inside our Cape up in Massachusetts now. It takes two boards, one mounted on the wall and one mounted on the back of the mirror. The long edge of the wall-mounted board is sliced at an angle to allow the mirror-mounted board to mate with it, and thus spread out the load across the width of the board. If I can draw it out for you with keyboard strokes, I'd do it. ]__\ is the basic shape. The slanted angle is on a long edge of the board. I'd make it a 2" thick board at least. The two boards come together so that the edges are like this \\ .....Hope that shows you. With your mirror, a second row of wood near the bottom might secure it against any wind trying to twist it. But basically, this will hold up a LOT of weight....See MoreHow to hang art on vertical siding
Comments (9)I've been wondering the same thing too because I want to attach house numbers to my own vertical siding without leaving holes. Just last week, I found that some people are using two sided outdoor tape for this purpose and ordered this Two Sided Outdoor Tape from Amazon. I don't know for sure if it will work so please DON'T consider this a recommendation. However, I will try soon and let you know what happens....See MoreFlowerGardener
