water dripping down furnace & wtr heater exhaust pipe
Comments (3)Thanks for responding. The exhaust pipe goes through the roof and due to the design and height of the roof it is difficult to tell if they have caps on them. I see two exhaust pipes go through the roofs. I assume each unit has its own? Two wks ago it was raining when I discovered the leak. However, it was not raining last night - from the time i got home to discovery of leak (4.5 hrs later). The ground was dry. We have gabled style roofs so I am baffled as to where the water could originate from. The leak had stopped over night. I emptied the bucket and bowl and they stayed dry all day. Heater has been on all evening and there is no leak. Could it be condensation from my neighbor's AC? They were running their AC all day everyday until yesterday when temp dropped. Sorry for rambling. I am trying to determine if I need to ask my HOA to take a look or hire a HVAC specialist....See MoreNew neighbor below me and my floor is toasty warm YEA
Comments (12)The HVAC guy for our house was a dud. We added a tiny boiler and hot water tubing under the floor of the rooms on the north side of our house. These are my favorite rooms for comfort in winter. They still get forced air heat with the essential humidity from the flow-through humidifiers on the furnace. Our Maui condo faces NW. It's ground floor and stays cooler when the the two-story townhouse above it is occupied. There are also large overhangs. The TV weatherman in Honolulu is moaning about the overnight lows -- 68F. We're to be minus one tonight and are running out of places to shovel the snow off our driveway. I'm feeling more sorry that we couldn't get to Maui this year...wah. (The extra income from renting 'our' time Jan - Mar. has been some comfort.)...See MoreDrip Drip Drip Drip ------------Drip!
Comments (32)Heh, I had the.. fortune.. of having my well bladder chain fail just as the cold set was coming in. Age related thing, not cold related. Not cheap... but today I can happily say I know darn well that my water is 100% checked from well pipe to well house to all the inside water- and all the various entry points... and everything safe without having to do drips. And apparently what is icky to me crawlspace under the house is "really nice" in comparison to some- I have indoor access to a proper basement hole before the "higher clearance than many" and "dryer than most" crawlspace, lol. And there's a couple hardwired lightbulbs to boot!...See MoreGutters - water dripping from underside?
Comments (5)Hard to say how far they extend - I can’t get a good look. The volume of water to me suggests its more than just the rain hitting the side of the gutter. There’s considerably more water than on another section of gutter on the same side of the house....See MoreTexEx
