best dishwasher?
Comments (20)We splurged on a very quiet, higher end Bosch 11 years ago (if I remember correctly it was $800) and it's been wonderful. I only run it about twice a week, and always on the econo/delicate setting to save water/energy - I do rinse my dishes since I don't run it everyday, but I only have to use 1 level teaspoon of powdered detergent to end up with sparkling clean dishes. We live in a small house so the noise level was very important to me - it's a very soft "swoosh, swoosh" noise that I rarely notice. It has had only one problem - a defect in the circuit board about 5 years ago that the repairman told me was a common problem for that particular model of Bosch. (It was an inexpensive fix.) He also told me he recommends Bosch to all of his friends and family since in his experience they so rarely require service....See MoreBest dishwashers to buy 2015?
Comments (41)my Bosch 3 rack Model SHE7PT55UC broke into the second year. The "ROPE" that holds the door broke. Really! A rope for such an expensive machine. Some have reported repeated rope breakeage. Rope was covered under warranty, repair not $150.00. Now it is out of warranty; next rope and repair will be on me. I wonder how much they charge for the rope. I doubt I will buy another one unless they change to something more durable. I find stacking dishes to be less than favorable. You can let dishes sit for days and have them come out clean but we have to run it daily often half empty because of the poor design configuration of the tines which doesn't permit utilization of the space. Otherwise it works fine. For me it was a disappointment. Inga...See MoreBest Dishwashing Detergent 2017?
Comments (11)Did you try the Method Smarty Dish tabs from Whole Foods? That might be one of the losers for you but while they don't stop the water spots, they clean well for me. You might need to cut them, though. Last I looked they were the best reviewed of the environmentally friendly ones. With my old dishwasher, which did the work, 7th Generation powder got them spotless and gleaming shiny blingy, but it's useless in the new kind of machines which rely on the detergent for the cleaning.....See MoreBest dishwasher and 24" under counter wine fridge?
Comments (5)I have had a Liebherr beverage and outdoor fridge for 2+ years with no issues, and they are dead silent. They also make wine fridges. We also considered Perlick but we came out far better pricewise with Liebherr. In our previous home we had. Uline for over 5 years, and it performed flawlessly; however, they have changed their design, and I have heard a few in showrooms and new homes that are not nearly as quiet as the one we had. Our builder had a client that put in Monogram wine fridges and they seemed quiet when I was looking at the home. Totally agree about Miele and Bosch dishwashers. I have had both and prefer my Miele with the open air drying system and rack configurations as well as overall build quality. As the above poster suggests - go look at them and see which one will work best for you....See MoreUser
