When I started using Houzz I was amazed at how accurate the results of my searches were (in addition to the size of the photos database). It was a great resource. More recently when I've prepared to undertake projects, I've noticed that I just don't get the same, accurate results. My searches are riddled with results that just aren't pertinent. I think this is due to the incorporation of advertisers from my city and surrounding areas (contractors, builders, and others). There are enough ads (or results that are somehow influenced by someone who has something to sell) now to really hinder the flow of design ideas. I guess many internet sites end up using advertisers but it morphs the user experience. It's really made using Houzz less fruitful.

Yes, all our recycling has to be clean, and because containers have a tendency to "nest" in the recycling bin, I need the stuff dry before I throw it in there, to avoid mold etc, as recycling is only picked up every two weeks. We recycle and compost more than we trash these days. Good, but requires more logistical organization than the old kitchen provided. I don't think you can underestimate the amount of yogurt three girls go through :-) beth09 I saw it at BB&B, but ended up buying it at Homesense for $30 CDN. The arrangement of your uppers needs to be tweaked. If it were me, I'd take the ones on either side of the hood out and use an easy reach cabinet in the corner by the sink. The hood width looks the same as the cooktop and you'll want to increase it by 6 inches for good capture. Put one over the countertop next to the fridge. If open shelves are the way you want to go, they'll terminate nicely between the uppers instead of losing storage in that corner. You'll need filler next to your oven cab for those doors to open. It'll move everything to the left enough that the flying cab will look especially awkward. You want to pick either bringing cabs down on either side of the hood or give it some breathing room (depends on the chimney). The over-the-fridge cab is unusual. Not sure if that's just a place holder but think about how the lines are going across the room, from the cabinet doors. You'll want to maintain that continuity. Do you really want no trim at the ceiling for transition? I'm going minimal, myself, but I think the top of the cabs need something. It doesn't look like you have enough leg room for all of the counter stools, looking at the corner closest to us, so that's something to address if the number of seats is important to you.

I am already there, BF! I have several Navajo rugs hung on the walls in various rooms through the house. I used to tell people that I had a rug fetish, but that sounded kinda creepy... but I DO! I just have a great big affinity for woven pieces that go on the floor and can seriously obsess over them. I know I'm in good company in that regard, though!
