Angie and Danny - didn't really expect that, but they sure ran a good race.
Yes, Jeopardy Masters, the Cleveland Guardians game, Amazing Race - ugh.
AR....That's NOT fair. The camera crew fell behind, so THEY were penalized....WTH I'm not only surprised....but...that's a rule?
Survivor: Well....another blindside! But...I liked it. A strong competitor.
We've never eaten @ Applebees, but....I worked with a woman who ordered take out from them. She loved it!
I never knew that losing your camera crew was penalizing either. In fact, I never gave the camera crew much thought until last night. Now it makes sense that each team would have their personal crew. ha
It happened at the round-about. Angie and Danny took a left turn at the last minute while the crew took a right. Apparently it's not a matter of them just following a team, the directions are shared the entire time?
Olychick, so sorry...I forget where I get these things from...I probably took yours to send to a friend.
Here's one to make up for my faux pas...
Even with him choosing those two I knew what it was. I'm surprised he didn't.
I wonder if someone read my message on Next Door or the email the Community manager sent and decided to keep her at home. We had a beautiful afternoon and she didn't visit. I have to confess that I was a little disappointed. But as I mentioned before she doesn't show up every day - she probably has a string of homeowners to visit on her wanderings.
I also have been thinking of her and wondering how she was doing. My sympathies to her family.
joann, nice of you to post this.
Joann, that is a lovely tribute
Danny is super annoying.
I'm also surprised that TAR teams helping other teams is so acceptable this season, at least I see it more this time. I know it's game strategy but a little over the top to me.
No eating challenges yet.
salonva, reminds me of my neighbors.
I can always tell when they are expecting, perhaps UNexpected, company. She jumps on the mower and races around the yard while he frantically weeds flower beds or throws down mulch, she then gets in the car and drives off to return with a flat or two of flowers and they both precede to hurriedly plant a small circular brick planter in their front yard - no matter how early in the season.
Yeah, I guess I'm nosy but it is funny to watch.

Yeah, me too. I try to disappear to another room or something, not outside in case they need a question answered. Or I do the opposite and talk to them too much, ask too many questions, check in to make sure they are doing as I asked, etc. I know it bothers them big time.
Do I offer coffee? lunch? ugh. I never have done that but have read where some people feel it is courtesy to do so and that some workers expect it?
My house is small, one level. The bathroom is usually close to the one room they're working in. I hold it until they break for lunch and they leave! LOL
For the most part, I find them with varying degrees but overall courteous, respectful ,etc.
We did offer beverages ( bottled water, cans of soda) regularly and actually only ended up doing lunch (heros, subs, hoagies depending on where you are) one day. Typically we would have done that more but it was a very varying work crew.
Editing to add, I wouldn't worry too much about what beverages you're offering.... I go for ease ( as in bottled water,or cans.. I don't want to mess with cups and storage etc). I find it's always well received.
Thanks, salonva. DH thinks I'm overthinking it and they will bring coolers with their own drinks. Maybe. But I think I'll put some soda cans in the garage fridge along with the water we already keep...just in case. Want to keep the crew happy.
We did meet at least some of the crew already. They came to demo the existing shower to determine if we could take a wall down since the preferred layout depended on that. They were very nice and cleaned up after themselves which I was very happy about. Especially loved the head carpenter guy. His words - you show me a picture and I will build it exactly like that. Um, I love you!
Did it steal your picanic basket too?
I don't remember the year, but it was a long time ago and it was Garden Web then. Not sure when I discovered The Kitchen Table forum. Used to enjoy something called, "The Party......?" maybe that's still active, I'll have to look.
ETA: Oh, I think it was The Garden Party
If you click on the Internet Archive link I posted above, you can click through the links and browse old pages from various dates and see all those long ago names...

Seeing the old format is a blast from the past too 😀
P.S. Some of the posts are archived too, but not all, so when you click on some of them you can read them.
Not sure when I first joined Gardenweb - I miss it. I much preferred it to what is now the discussion forum of HOUZZ. So much arrogance and snark here now. Nothing like it used to be.
Thank you!
This ditch is right below a hay field. I have a notion to go out and destroy the plant asap. I looked and didn't see any other plants, perhaps if I shovel it out I'll get enough of the roots that it won't spread?
It has quite a deep tap root.
I've been following it - very interesting and so many really great commentaries about it. I think so many men have no idea what it's like to move through life as a woman. I like what this man wrote:
And to FOAS point:
