Dining room accent wall color to go with wet cement grey
Comments (3)Yellow is a cheery contrast for gray. I'm working, slowly, on a sewing/craft room; I didn't originally plan to paint it gray, but I saw a friend's living room, &...there I went. Although my usual mantra is "warm colors with warm colors & cool colors with cool colors"... when the cool color is gray, it seems to highlight the light, bright, warm pastels. My current, not set in stone or even jello, plan calls for curtains with a yellow/green/orange pattern, or maybe a turquoise/orange (or peach) pattern. so...release your inner butterfly!...See MoreNeed help with dining room accent wall
Comments (9)Do you have any art that you already own and really love? I would do a grouping of photos. Maybe a symmetrical grouping of 4 or 6, 16x20 size. I wouldn't go too small or with too many. There are also many gallery inspiration photos online. I like the idea of children art and I'm also one that likes family photos and doesn't have an issue with them in public spaces. (Some think they need to be kept in the hall or a bedroom.) I would get some posterboard, trace and cut out some different size art, use painters tape on the back and move it around to get a visual. Looking again, I see you mentioned pictures could be a problem bumping and you may be right. You could do something vinyl, there's endless wall words and phrases you could use. That personally wouldn't be my pick but it's an option. Another option might be a large round or oval clock if you don't already have one....See MoreA small dining room needs big help
Comments (15)Ixnay on the allpaper-way. And don't put up new wallpaper either. It's just not versatile enough. If you want to change around your artwork, you are left with holes in your wallpaper, or huge fade marks. I just can't image why one wall is missing wainscoting. Was this a DIY job and someone ran out of steam or money? Accent walls are ridiculous. Period. When you can afford to put up the matching wainscoting on the remaining wall, please do so. Meanwhile please strip that awful wall paper and please be careful to not damage the wall underneath. Old wallpaper is not at all easy to remove, I've done it, and you want to be very slow and careful or you will have to do a ton of work repairing damage to the walls. If you paint the walls grey, please do a very light grey. Wood floors is a lovely idea, but not grey wood. That's too trendy and will be out of fashion in the blink of an eye. Pick wood that is warm in color that looks like wood with a warm color stain that goes with the wood in the rest of the house....See MorePaint ??? Wainscote or accent wall Dining room
Comments (3)I agree with anj. Trims, molding etc are usually done in a white. I look at wainscoting in the same vein. That said, it’s your house........See More- 18 days agolast modified: 18 days ago
