Furniture arrangement in a 15'8" x 25'10" Living and Dining room
Comments (3)The room is 15’8” wide and you need to be able to pull back dining chairs about 3’ all round for unobstructed mobility. So, If you subtract 6’ from 15’8” you are left with 9’8”….long way around saying “yes” a 9’ table would fit. To what are the sliders going? Yard, deck? And what is that 3056 space on the dining wall? In rooms short of wall space, I think two sliders may be a bad choice. Depending on what your answer is to the 3056 space, I would put the slider there; and two windows where you have the sliders. But that is just my opinion and I never put the t v in the living room. Back to your furniture arrangement and your plan, would this work? Dining area has one slider; sofa area has the other slider with sofa back to dining area, facing the wall on which you want the t v. Aslo consider a curved sofa, instead of the typical three seater. This sofa is from Wayfair. I think the ottomans come with it. You could use the ottomans with the corner chairs you want. Lots of seating for a smaller area….. sorry…my mistake the ottomans are not included…why do they show them, then, in the photo? Grrrrrrr...See Morehow to arrange furniture for best tv viewing
Comments (6)few suggestions for you. yes, mount it as low as possible w/o the heat affecting it. please move your sofa forward a bit. it doesn't have to actually sit back in the bay window portion. you can do a sofa table in the actual bay, and move your sofa in front of that. kind of like this (see how the table lamps are on the sofa table? eats up that blank space) then find an inexpensive flat weave rug (5x8 should be good) and a rectangle type of ottoman or coffee table. here are examples. don't look at the style so much, just look at the furniture placement how the rug is used you could also do 2 small sofas and place them like this, w/the chairs over by the window do a few chairs like this in the bay window area, and try the sofa in another direction. this should open the room up for you a bit...See Morehelp arranging living room furniture
Comments (13)I would paint the entire room a warm white, including the fireplace. Romabio can match masonry paint to your wall paint. Increase the depth of the mantel with a beefier piece of rustic wood. Wall mount the TV where you have it now. Drywall the pass through closed and put the sofa there. Add a pair of swivel chairs in the window area. Build a "L" bench in the dining nook and use a pedestal table with a couple of extra chairs that can be pulled over to the seating area. Replace your coffee table with an upholstered bench (maybe with storage inside.) Top it with a tray and it can also be used for extra seating....See MoreLiving Room furniture arrangement after renovation
Comments (2)IMO too soon to be buying furniture . When renovating all kinds of issues come up that need a rethink of plans sometimes so I would wait until at least the drywall is up then come back with a to scale floor plan and you will get lots of free help here. BTW why are you not asking your designer these questions . Please never put a TV above a fireplace if at all possible and before designing built ins please think about what you own that needs to be displayed. In my experience most builtins are just filled with stuff that requires no display and if there is space enough on either side of the FP 2 matching low cabinets one on each side with the TV wall mounted above one and a piece of art above the other saves the cluttered look of bookshelves and the TV on an articulating arm allows a lot of freedom with furniture arrangement. My choice is almost always a sofa and 2 chairs...See MoreKristen Lewis
