breakfast table ideas?

Looking for table/chair ideas for breakfast nook. Trying to keep the design light and airy with slimmer profiles but not too modern.

I need a bit more info. How manty seats , what do you consider too modern? I like a Saarinen table with some chairs for a nice classic look a bit modern yes but classic. You can do the top in wood if that is something you would like.

The kitchen is a blank slate and with wanting light/airy/not too modern the choices are endless. Chairs are a big consideration (ensure island stools complement) and they will also have a big influence on how the space feels. What's the connecting space like, as you’ll want some consistency style wise.

Hard to be helpful/specific without knowing your budget and needs.

Ctkathy, i'm going for the same thing in my new house, and *think* I may go with a banquette, instead of chairs. Ballard's has what look to be comfortable pieces, and a good selection of sizes and upholstery/slipcovers. They have a web site where you can view the selections, and the prices aren't too horrendous.

7' x10' feet for a breakfast nook? If so, that's a lot of space! There are so many whose entire kitchen is not even 7'x 10' in size! My own breakfast nook is approximately 8' x 4' in size. It's located at the end of my galley style kitchen, in front of a wall of bay windows. I have a 30" round cafe table and 2 cafe chairs. When push comes to shove, I can seat one more at this table. But it's tight. Still, if I'm reading your post correctly, you have 6' more feet than me in one direction. If so, I'm thinking you ought to be able to create a decent nook area for 4. That said, how many people are you looking to seat? Design/style preferences?

I think the cream with metal bands is very nice, too. It measures 11"h x 16"d which makes me wonder if it will be swalloed by the tray. I've added another option and included the dining room fixture to provide all the choices in one place. What do you think of the quatrefoil? It measures 16" h x 13"d. I showed a photo upthread of a round drop-leaf table. If you have another dining area, I think most people looking at your room would wonder why the heck it is so important to smoosh everyone into THIS room to eat? The only table I'd have in this room is one that (a) doubles as a work surface, and (b) folds up and/or slides over easily out of the way of the cooking zone, and I'd think of it as a space for reading and having coffee, or kids having a snack after school. Maybe one kid could do hw there. A kitchen is a work room...especially a kitchen on the smaller side. Imagine having 6 (or even 4) people dining in your kitchen with that table in there now--how would the cook grab the desserts or a forgotten condiment out of the refrigerator? The aisle would be impassable, imho.

That's a real estate listing photo.....

You need to inform the size of the breakfast area/ nook.

Do you have counter stools? Plan on them?

I assume open to a family room. What's your style......etc?

I would go with a round glass table and four chairs. Looks nice and airy, maybe with a rattan base and rattan chairs.

Do you have a dining area? If not, perhaps you should consider placing it here instead of making it a breakfast area.

Thank you all!! Here are more pictures of the space. The stools in houzz picture is the style i am going for - warm contemporary with some metallic industrial accents.

I’d be coordinating with living area and have an overall plan for the entire space. Also suggest measuring out the space to see what size/shape table and amount of seating will work best.
