Nope. Looking beautiful. They all look like Chinense varieties, so bushy is the norm. Get the shorter ones on some old books etc. to get them closer to the lights. No more than inch away. Btw, Probably not a good idea with the CLEAR cups. Should be fine for now, but when hardening off, they'll need a different container or protection to keep the sun from cooking the roots. Kevin

Caelian, very good eyes. surprised anyone would notice that. The second row in the first picture is Aswad Eggplant. First year growing them, Iraqi variety that can weigh well over 3 pounds... well see I'm keeping my fingers cross on them. If they do well I'll share the seeds with who ever wants them. Caelian, please tell me all your plant are not gone? You worked so hard on them. jifjifjif, I keep staring a my pepper plants too. The heat coming off the supper hots may eventually blind me but at least I can still taste them. Mmm Mmm can't wait for that sweet heat! I'm guna pickle, roast, dry, stuff and bake, powder, grill and smoke em. Any thing else I may have missed.. Oh Yea eat them right off the plant. Going to go to Cross Country Nurseries soon.. andyroo, Nice variety of peppers that you have there. I have about a 15 day head start on you and my peppers are about 5 inches tall. When I'm growing peppers, or any plants from seed, I always want to make sure that they never dry out, because this is deadly for younger plants. I start all of my seeds in Jiffy Pellets and put them inside one of those plastic domes, they provide great moisture. My sprouts stay in there until their little leaves start hitting the roof. Once out they go into 3 & 1/2 inch pots similar to the ones you are using and I continue to make sure that they donÂt dry out (it got real cold here this past week so we had the heat on and I found myself having to check my plants every 12 hours or so because the heat was drying them out real fast). My other big concern is that my plants are as close to the light as I can get them, in fact some of my bigger plants are now touching the light and it never seems to hurt them. How old are your bulbs? I ask this because my bulbs were at least 4 years old at the beginning of the growing season. I started some Morning Glories under those bulbs and they started to look real leggy, so I went out and got a new set of bulbs & this did wonders. My Morning Glories really started to take off and everything else has been doing real well also. What ever you decide I wouldn't worry too much because once the peppers get out into the real sun they're bound to go gangbusters. Peppers are real hardy and I've never had any trouble once I got them outdoors. Best of luck to you & keep growing those peppers plants.

They might know more over at the hot pepper forum, but the sooner you plant it in soil, the better. I'd put it in a lite mix of perlite/peat/potting soil. Sand won't hurt it, and fertilizer will help it. If you look in the container forum, there is a whole thread with a formula for Al's gritty mix. That is a well drained potting soil that everyone raves about. I think the name of the thread is Water Movement in soils, or something like that, and it's close to the top of the thread list. I have 4 peppers, but mine are outside in the dirt. Peppers can live to 40 years and can grow into large gnarly bushes. Mine are never without peppers. I do have the hot kind, however. I'm not sure if they like snow, so containers that you can bring in are probably best. We have zero snow here, and even in the cold weather, they bear peppers. It's pretty hard to kill a pepper. They are very tough. They can even be bonsai'd, and you know that process! They trim roots, put in very little dirt, and the plant still lives! TOUGH little guys! I'd get those planted ASAP! Suzi
