Samsung Fridge repair issues?
Comments (31)Our 20+ years old Whirlpool fridge is dying. I am attracted to a Samsung side by side and door in door model with a price under 2,000 but hesitated as reading so many bad review about liability issues and difficulty of getting repaired. True, I can purchase store warranty by Lowes or Homedepot but who wants to deal with repairment or replacement in such a short time? I went to a local GE appliance store. Of course, they confirmed the poor service of Samsung, LG, Kenmore, etc. and interested to buy a GE brand and they would provide timely repairment. But I still love the door in door feature of Samsung and LG brand (Kenmore has it too). I don't really care about the ice water or ice feature but can't find any interesting model without it. Any suggestion? Anyone has a Samsung product and still is happy with it?...See MoreHelp me choose a FR couch color to match kitchen (picture heavy)
Comments (19)Thanks for the opinions - even if four of the colors have been suggested by at least one person. We have agreed that the brandy (suggested by no one) won't work. It is too reddish pinkish and doesn't go with the cherry cabinets. We have had the colors in the family room most of the day. Sixty, the Oxford blue goes well with the blue in the rug, but we decided that it doesn't really work with the quartzite. The quartzite is an aqua blue and the purer navy blue doesn't exactly clash with it but it doesn't do much for tying into it. Of the Rock, Chocolate and Cognac, we are starting to think that any of them could work. We are leaning toward the Cognac. It doesn't have too much red in it and ties well to the cherry. Part of the cherry grain is the same color as it. What we like about it compared to the Rock and Chocolate is that the Cognac still looks like a color when the room lighting is low while the other two start looking just blackish. The Rock and Chocolate would be a lot of dark surface in the room. I really like all the colors and at least three of them would work but watching them in all the lighting conditions, we think the Cognac is best....See MorePainted cabinet issues- matching questions
Comments (3)Well, contractors of any kind may insist on using their favorite products because they have tried them all already and know which are the true winners. Also, what if he switches products and there is some kind of learning curve involved? It's true that every paint manufacturer makes a paint appropriate for use on cabinets, but that doesn't mean they are all good. As for painting one room all the same color, the walls are not going to match the cabinets no matter what because of lighting and shadows and because one surface is cabinet and one surface is wall. If the color match isn't quite perfect, it's not going to matter. As for color matching in general, it's somewhat of an inexact science, but for most customers, close is good enough. You should be able to ask to approve the color match before proceeding with the work though. In fact, if I run into a customer that I can sniff out is going to be particular about the exactness of the color match, I will make them sign off on the match before painting anything....See MoreIssues patching wood floors - new planks don’t match
Comments (10)It is the light color that is difficult to match. As geoffrey_b said it is difficult to match due to age. I agree that it will age with time. I too have an older home (66 years) and chose to have the old floors refinished so the difference is not so great. I attempted to duplicate the stain by refinishing my daughter's room by myself. I stripped, sanded, and stained the floors and they are practically indistinguishable from the old floors. Of course I have not been able to walk without pain for weeks after trying to dance around with the sander I rented, but it is all good. I agree with rwiegand that you might try a sealer in a slightly darker color in an inconspicuous spot and see whether you can match it. Sealers are made in all colors and I have actually mixed colors in order to match when refinishing furniture....See MoreHolger Bach
