what is your favorite candle?
Comments (3)Woodwick is hands down my favorite. You can't go wrong with sounding like you sitting in front of a crackling fire. Some of the other things I really like about them, they have never been worm burner for me (tunneling down the middle), the scent has lasted right through to the bottom, and it seems to take me forever to go through one. I burn mine usually every other day and for hours when I do. I have one right now sitting next to me that I have had for 1 1/2 months, burning every other day almost and there is still 1/3 left. To me that is well worth the cost, since they do run a bit high. Stacy...See MoreWhat is your favorite candle brand and scent?
Comments (42)I've always had favorable comments with a moderate strength vanilla scent, it seems to appeal to both males and females. I personally do not like flower scents, specially gardenia and rose. tttodd, the Slatkin candles are great; I especially like the fact that the lid is attractive and kills the flame without having to blow the candle out (eliminating that burned smell of having just blown out candles). I just bought a 3 wick Marshmallow slatkin on thursday and it has a mild vanilla scent. The glass jars at Yankee get a black soot deposit when you extinguish them by putting the lid on. Yankee has started selling some of their scents in a simple clear column container, like the slatkins; I personally do not like the countryish jars, they don't suit my decor. On that same shopping trip, I bought 2 boxes of Yankee vanilla tea lights, they burn well and go out by themselves, which is what I like about tea lights, specially the clear plastic ones, they look good in a clear glass votive holder....See MoreFluff Post: what do you use to line your wastebaskets?
Comments (34)Several years ago I bought a wastebasket frame that attached to the inside of my kitchen sink cabinet that used the plastic grocery bags with handles that we brought home with our groceries. I loved it. But of course, now you can't get them at grocery stores in our area anymore. Can't even pay for them. You either buy a paper bag or a durable bag, or bring your own. I can buy bags made for that frame, but they are a bit expensive, so I took it down. I now use a 2 gallon round wastebasket under the sink and in both bathrooms. If I stretch them a bit, I can use the plastic bags we put produce in at the store. I also have purchased bags that I use when I'm out of produce bags. When I have to use the purchased bags, I am reminded that we don't eat enough roughage, LOL. The only other thing I use trash bags for is the Litter Robot. I have purchased special bags for it, but they're about 50 cents each! I now use cheap 13-gallon bags for the Robot. We have 6 cats and that's a lot of doo-dee. We would be spending a good portion of the day scooping were it not for the Robot. It was expensive, but well worth the cost in my opinion. Another opinion: Bruno is our most intelligent cat. I've trained him to jump through a hoop and I've thought it might be worth training him to use the toilet. Then he could teach the others, LOL....See MoreFluff post: do you use those Renuzit or Glade air freshener solids?
Comments (59)a whole lot of scented things bother me - physically. my sister uses the plug in scent things. everything she sends to me smells like it. If it's clothes, i have to wash them or hang them outside for several days. even non cloth things smell like it. I can't use (or be around where it is used) Windex or Lysol. I had to walk right back out of Target one day - as I walked in, I passed a check out lane where the clerk was cleaning her counter with Windex. I felt it instantly and left. I use to wear White Diamonds, then one day, I couldn't anymore - or even be around those who do. A girl in the office started using it and we had to ask her not to anymore at work. If caused my throat to close up. As did one of those 'hang in the car' things. I bought one for my car (yrs ago) with a coconut scent (which I like) but when I sat in my car reading the newspaper (outside the laundromat), my throat started closing up - it kept getting worse... and I was about to panic when i saw that thing (new) hanging on the mirror. Being the only thing new to me and my car, I took it off and threw it outside the car and left my car door open. It took a few minutes, but my throat began to release and I was ok. Never again! I buy scent free Kleenex (puffs) and detergent (Arm and Hammer). When i went to the laundromat, I had to use scent free dryer sheets - sometimes they were hard to find in stores around me. I'm very careful with cleaners, lotions, soaps, shampoo etc. In a way, it's a really a sad thing to be afflicted with... in another way, it's really a warning to us... a red flag to pay close attention to....See Morelittlebug zone 5 Missouri
