Comments (38)Having painted a living area that included a second story loft, I can say that would another drawback to painting in addition to the wood prep. Are you willing to put in the sweat equity with the chance you could be suddenly moved. My good friends who were a dual military family got stuck with two mortgages for several months when one got a promotion that included a cross country move. The cosmetics of painting should be secondary to practicalities of wiring, heating and AC. Those will make it safe and comfortable so you can live with the space for a awhile to know how the light changes through days and seasons. This could determine whether you want a bright white or subtle off white if you paint....See Morehow to choose white accent wall in wood wall/ceiling house
Comments (26)if you really love grey, go for it. but I really think that grey toned hardwood floors will never work with a warm toned ceiling. so mockup #6 would be the best bet. what's giving me pause is how it looks against that one wood accent wall. it's so hard to tell how it's really going to look in real life. DIY software is helpful for narrowing ideas down, but it's never going to get the color exactly right. note: I'm not an interior designer. I'm a graphic designer with a good eye. I can help people with ideas and examples when they feel stuck, but by no means am I qualified to make strong recommendations. you have some really big decisions here, and you might want to hire a pro for this! if anything, they can do mockups that are much more realistic so you can get a better sense of the outcome....See MoreFamily Room remodel. We have 2 in our great room, in our office, exercise area and every bedroom and basically never turn them off even in the winter. If you wouldn't use a ceiling fan then go with a chandelier....See MoreJP L
