Will I regret white grout on a backsplash? With Grout Maximizer?
Comments (5)Fun, I used epoxy grout in the bath surround. Yes it needs more cleaning to remove, but not the horror stories I've read. I did use a tile sealer on the top of tile before grouting and often wonder if this made a difference. As with all reviews you are going to read the rough adventures. I can't remember if those who had problems were new at grouting or the type of epoxy used. The process and manufacturer is never really mentioned. Why not try it on a small board? I probably used this on a couple of square feet at a time and cleaned off as I went. My spacing is 1/4". It looks great, smooth and clean. Is as hard as regular grout, not sure why others had an issue with it staying soft. And I used a premix, which many said to stay away from. I haven't had to do anything with mine for 5 years. Will add that it looks a bit different than normal grout, but you would have to look close. Wipes down right along with tile whenever wanted. It definitely seals between the tile. Take a chance and sample it before the big job. They have small containers. Also, even though this worked for me and I would do it again, there is always the norm of wanting what has always been. Standard grout can still be the norm for many....See Morehelp picking out grout color + ending backsplash border
Comments (8)Hi thanks for the responses ! The trim is going anywhere the backsplash ends , so all those cuts will be addressed. I just can’t quite figure out with what kind of trim. I’ve looked up the metal ones, but they’re very thin and I want one that’s at least an inch wide. And I’m not finding a matching glass tile color to use. And yeah, I originally didn’t want the side splash of the quartz on the wall either but was advised from several people that behind the sink areas, without a side splash, can create leaks / water eventually seeps in between the tile backsplash and counter top. And because the sink is in front of the pass thru , and we wanted a counter top for the pass thru anyway (paint never lasted and always came off bc of heat from food and how we use it) — with the side splash, there wasn’t enough space to put tile (I won’t lie, I wasn’t the most confident in my contractors abilities to do it either) so again, just decided to continue the quartz up. Definitely not the traditional way to do it, but I need this to last several years, and we use our kitchen a lot. So I figured this was the best way to get the most longevity out of our reno. But yeah, I myself would’ve preferred to not have it. Lol. My first choice for backsplash would have been marble - but thinking longevity — we cook with a lot of turmeric , paprika, etc - lots of staining ingredients- so I didn’t want to deal with the hassle of maintaining marble either (backsplash continues behind the stove) Out of all the options at floor &decor, this backsplash seemed to match best at the time. But now I’m just so unsure about it, so I’m just trying to make it work. Here’s picture of wood floor. It’s a townhouse - so foyer , kitchen and dining has same flooring. This pic was taken before backsplash. Thanks again for the input ! Any ideas on grout color? The cabinet color also keeps changing. Some days it looks blue, others a grey blue....See MoreMy kitchen backsplash has black grout and I want to change it to white

Comments (3)I made several sample boards so that I could see how the different grout colors (all shades of gray, LOL) would look installed in my kitchen. It was a great help in making my decision!...See Morebeeboo22
