Comments (22)In my design opinion, I find that the marble backsplash with a marble look quartz countertop makes the countertop look more fake than it is. I would stick to a solid quartz for a countertop if you want a real marble backsplash. It's very very hard to pull off both without one looking fake....See MoreCost of Faux Wood or Real Wood Blinds?
Comments (6)Interesting- I also would have assumed a bigger price difference. We had faux wood (Lowe's brand and Home Depot brand so these were not the high end ones) in our previous home for well over 10 years and they were totally fine. I think another reason I preferred them other than the cost, was that they were lighter weight so raising them was less of an issue. Comments (1)My guess is that it's real wood, but not structural. That's a super long span, for any location, with or without snow loading. Another clue is that one of the trusses lands on top of a window, which glass tends to not be structurally load bearing. However, those trusses could be load bearing, and there could be a steel header over the windows, but my guess is that's not the case.
