I think it's best to focus on getting a quartz that is either very solid and/or in a contrasting color to your marble (a distinct shape like herringbone also helps). If they are too close in pattern, the faux finish will stick out, imho. Regarding the backsplash behind the stove -- some people have had problems, especially those that fry a lot. I've been diligent with sealing and wiping up after use. (As aside, we have pure white quartz in one kitchen and gloss black granite in another -- both show crumbs and smears, for different reasons. The grey quartz shows the least).

Can you get to Central New Jersey? Go to the MSI showroom. They're lovely, and helpful, and you can see full slabs of of the quartz. If you can, bring one of your cabinet doors. I was having a problem finding the right white since many quartzes I looked at were too creamy. I went there recently and found something I love, and bought, that's new, not even on their website or in any kitchen showrooms I've been to. I bought a piece, Calacatta Bruno, because it's great in my bathroom, but they've got loads. Also, they'll ask who sent you. Have a name ready, like your contractor, or Home Depot, or anything. The ones you mentioned are typically cooler whites. You need to get a sample of your cabinets and match to a slab. Do you have an MSI stone place near you? They have a lot of options. Another one to look at is calacatta gold, which does have some warmth in it.

Thank you so much for all your comments! The fact that I even had to ask, I now realize, reflects that I am just not in love with it. I needed reassurance the the sparkles would be okay. Instead, I received reassurance that I am not off-base to question the wisdom of installing it in my kitchen! It is almost the right thing -- but not quite. We are aiming for a French Country look (the white & light blue quartz went with our yellow/blue/white/natural maple wood color scheme) -- but that style does not include disco sparkles! Sigh. Back to the counter store I must go...
