South Melbourne Extension

This restoration, alterations and additions project involved the partial demolition of the existing Victorian home to make way for a bold new addition to the rear to house. New contemporary living spaces and the restoration of the remaining period features in the Victorian part of the home were part of the brief.

We were engaged to oversee this project from conception to completion. The grand double storey Victorian had all of the right ingredients for modernisation without compromising the integrity of the period features. The curved staircase was revived, the formal areas lightened and opened up and the master bedroom given a feeling of luxury.

The new works were housed in a Rheinzink extension, floating above a solid base. The kitchen opens onto an informal lounge space where my Client's children an play with supervision.
