This is a renovated 1800's Victorian in the village of Rhinebeck in Dutchess County, NY. The home is sited against a winding brook in a picture perfect storybook setting. The back has a large deck off the newly created great room which combines kitchen, dining and living room; perfect for indoor, outdoor living. The kitchen is a one wall unit called Bondi by Leicht with a large island finished in a deep claret red laminate. The home is all about drama. I created the color scheme and advised on furnishings and finishes along with Kathryn Whitman. Light and dark are juxtaposed to create a color palette full of surprises. Paints were from Donald Kaufman, Farrow & Ball and Benjamin Moore.
