This one-acre site included an accessory building that lacked a strong connection to the main home, and large heritage Coast Live Oak trees whose preservation was paramount. Because the owners had no need for a lawn, we introduced low-water plantings with an emphasis on California natives and seasonal color. We added a deck and arbor to the accessory structure, as well as a generous fire pit and discreet grilling patio.
