The Barefoot Blackbird Design

We had no clue where to start. We handed Maren a budget ($30,000-$40,000) and an inspiring seashell found at the beach And said “we would love a beach themed kitchen”. She brought to life more than we could of imagined. From patterns, colors, materials, kitchen appliances, lighting, she held our hand the entire way. She lined up contractors, vendors, ordering materials, and kept us in the loop the entire time. Not only did she create a dream kitchen, repurpose a dinning room to create a home office, and change the look and feel of a home to make it ours...she had to navigate all through Pandemic, Local fires, Evacuations, moving day deadlines, and a very tight timeline for us. And she came in just under our original budget. Maren created our fairy tail. Not to mention an indoor treehouse for our young children in their own room! Do yourselves a favor and give Maren some creative liberties on your project. She will only astound you! Can’t thank her enough for the home. The Legend of Maren Hollow will leave you feeling like you are her only client. Her imagination, attention to detail, and outright love for what she does shines in her work and through her vibrant personality. So showed our family so much love!

Maren has done several designs for me over the years in Florida and California. She listens to your needs and desires, even taking in side notes about the little things and creates magic. When you give her your project budget she does everything she can to see the design is made for it... without lacking anything. Amazing. Highly recommended!

When we started the process we where lost in a sea of misinformation and basically left to drift on our own to deal with contractors the county and everting else uniquely nightmarish about remodels... Then like a distant ship on the horizon it was our “construction fairy” Maren and Barefoot Blackbird Design. (Not literally we went more modern costal cool but the island works better with the life boat theme) she was/is very easy to work with has plenty of great ideas but not pushy snooty designer attitude, In short Maren gave us our voice and our style in our forever home and for that we are forever great full and loyal clients and we hope to say now also friends.
