Garden arbor and picket fence separate the side yard from the front yard creating outdoor rooms. The view to the front yard frames a sitting area with Adirondack chairs.

Garden forethought in preparation for a spring garden wedding...plantings in the design scheme included bulbs, perennials, and shrubs installed the fall prior. Spring annuals for the big day the week before the wedding were the icing on the cake.

The arbor over the swing is intended to shade the sitting area in this hot yard as the sun comes from the left side of the swing. Evergreen Pandorea vines eventually grew over the top. The style mimicked that of the already existing pergola on the deck. The swing gives the family a resting place to watch people practicing on the putting green.

The sports court became the tented for the wedding event space but later was in full use lively with tough plantings for color and texture including hosta, daylily and carpet roses.
