I recently went shopping for mirrors on a budget and found Lowes had 24 x 36, several options, all for under $100 each. Kirklands also had a sale last week with 33% off their mirrors and that's where I eventually ended up getting mine.

We originally bought one from HD, but wound up sending it back. Although it was listed as being made of wood, it was actually mostly MDF. Which is fine, but it was way too expensive for a vanity that was mostly MDF. We wound up going to a smaller kitchen and bath supply, and are very happy with the vanity. The only problem now is trying to find a top for it, but that's a different story... Just FYI, we realized that most of the vanities at HD and Lowes with built-in drawers would not have worked with our plumbing. Granted, we need a very small vanity, but it's just something to think about. When we remodel the master bath (someday), based on this experience, we'll bypass the box stores and go straight to our little local connection again.

Thank you for your thoughts, mamadadapaige. I like the frilly shade, but would prefer the stationary pendant (not chain). I will probably get the Visual Comfort pendants--I just want to have the shades made out of my material in a frilly look like the green. One of my inspiration fixtures is this with its own shade. The green--Vaughan fixture--will allow COM. My decorator is looking into it. One of my inspiration pix is this light fixture with a checked shade. I love it, but again, I don't want a swinging fixture if I can help it. I was thinking the same thing--to call Visual Comfort.

Enzaenza, I did an exhaustive search of vanities recently, mainly because I needed it to be 18" deep and most stock vanities sold online or anywhere for that matter are 21". You will pay more for a custom piece. But if you shop around, you can find deals. The vanity I purchased at one retailer was $700 more at another retailer. Like you, I was looking for furniture style (with feet) and didn't want it to look like a box with feet attached as an afterthought. Something else that complicated my search was decorative side panels. Because the side of my vanity is the first thing you see when entering the bathroom, the side had to look good, IOW not a flat panel. One company, Wellborn I think, was going to charge me $425 a side to swap out the slab side panel for a decorative one. Crazy. I ended up ordering a 48 X 18 Shiloh vanity from their Furniture Style Vanity line and am very pleased with it.
