Let's play My Favorite Thing's!!!!
Comments (53)Stinky-gardener mentioned the Sanyo 3-cup rice cooker as one of her favorite things. Same here, I use mine every week, it's such a time saver. I love the small size, used to have a 10 cup Zojirushi which made no sense when all I ever cooked was a couple cups of rice at a time. You will eat more rice if you own one of these handy little counter appliances. Another vote for Netflix, especially streaming. I also love the DVR, it remembers everything I want to record so I don't have to think about it. cooper, if you're reading this have you tried using baking soad instead of barkeeper's friend? It works the same and is much cheaper. I fill a cheap salt shaker (needs to have large holes) with baking soda I buy by the pound at Walmart and leave it out with the dish soap. One of my new favorite things is 100% Argan Oil. Not the stuff Adienne sells on HSN but the pure form that comes in a bottle. It goes on like a serum and disappears into your skin after a couple minutes, after that you can put on face cream if you need it....See Moreapron front sink faucets...let's play a game
Comments (11)Thank you all!!!!! At least you played and that's what counts. donna and eastender, those are fabulous choices and, well, really, they're facuet art! I hope you love them. Buffettgirl, I had a thought about you in the middle of the freakin night awhile back....too, funny. I DON'T sleep and random, thoughts just come into my mind. I had always thought you were "buffetgirl." Ya know, like the all you can eat Chinese buffet? Guess I thought that cause it was somewhat kitchen related. In the middle of the night it came to me that it is "BUFFETTgirl." I'm not kiddin. So now I assume you are a Jimmy Buffett fan and not an "all you can eat" fan. HA!!! My name is as it seems, I have six dogs and they whoop my butt on a daily basis. Thanks to you all for playing my game....See MoreLet's play.....Name That Granite! What would you say these are?
Comments (15)remodelfla - true quartite doesn't etch. It is metamorphosed sandstone. The problem seems to be that some of the stone being sold as quartzite either has something else mixed in that does etch or isn't quartzite at all. So far, I've only seen this issue posted on the mainly white quartzites. Some people have them and have etching while others with very similar looking stone don't. Quartzite is made primarily of quartz so it is very hard. It's harder than granite. Porosity varies in quartzite. Some is very low porosity and doesn't need sealing. Some is more porous and needs sealing - sometimes more than one application. It depends on how the metomorphic process went. Note that most of the stones sold as granite are not in the geological classification of granite. When you go to a stone yard, most group the slabs as either: marble: includes true marbles and other soft stones similar to marble, e.g. serpentine. Most of these etch with kitchen acids. granite: includes true granites and any stones about the same hardness as granite. Most of these don't etch, but some do so it's a good idea to test a sample from the slabs you want. Quartzite is sometimes grouped with the granite (ours was). It seems to be identified as quartzite at the stone yard a bit more now....See Morehelp make this bath modern and spa like. lets play
Comments (14)Mongo makes very good points so always listen to him, even if he claims to down play his design sense, LOL. Don't use that light. I would only use lighting that is rated for damp locations. Get your whole scheme together before you buy anything else! Do what Mongo suggested and go online to see images of what you like. You can't put everything in the room that you like, so you will have to cull. Find the basic themes that you like and build on that theme. You state you want modern. Pebbles and stone tile don't necessarily say modern to me. Pebbles are too organic to look modern. You might be thinking more of an organic look. The cabinet would look wonderful in that scheme. I typed in "organic modern bathroom" into Houzz. To me these are really more of an organic contemporary, as "modern" may not technically be accurate in the design term.
