Notice also that my sister ditched her parasol, while I kept mine, as the Texas sun is intense at that time of year. She has red hair and needed the sun protection even more than I did.

The El Segundo blue butterfly, an endangered species, on its host plant, seacliff buckwheat. It's tiny, and the blue is hidden when its wings are closed.

Golden Silk Orb Weaver at Congaree National Park. Her body was the size of my index finger and her entire self was bigger than my outstretched hand. Not much for scale in the photo, but the wooden planks in the ceiling are 4” wide.

Annie, no there is a Norfolk Southern freight line that goes along the river near where I live. Big Boy was on his way into Philadelphia for July 4th. I absolutely love hearing the train whistle in the distance when a train crosses the road here. Big Boy is going to be making a return trip on Monday. Id love to see it again but parking was difficult.
