Burger: we had this beyond delicious burger at a restaurant on the bay in Vancouver. It was so wonderful I’ve been making my own version of it ever since. I pretty much keep it the same, just using the ground beef I can get here. We’re actually having again this Sunday for a cookout with the kids.

Obelisk in Central Park. Interesting story about it.

Back in September 2011, Nita Foster and I took a road trip to visit 7 members of The Meeting House in 7 days. Nita used to do these trips all the time and I invited her to come to my house and we made plans to visit a different member each day. It was a lot of fun putting faces to names of friends we'd never met. I found a garden gnome along the way to accompany us and when we got to Donna Canfield's place in Missouri, the gnome gained a girlfriend. Donna had a thrift store so of course I had to go shopping and I bought a few things, including the girlfriend. I love her fancy outfit and the colors go with my colors in the second bedroom. It's silly, I know, but it's a wonderful reminder of a very fun trip.
