I am growing seedless table grapes in zone 4b/a. My plants are in 50 foot rows planted 8 feet apart, 5 plants per row. The trellis is a Geneva double curtain (2 parallel wires, 4 feet apart @ 6 feet from the ground). Rows run North – South. Due to the cold I am growing multiple trunks to have backups in case of winter kill. I have the following questions: 1) Is there a benefit to having a fewer number of trunks in that energy more easily reaches roots? Eg. 2 trunks with 1 or 2 canes each. 4 trunks with 1 cane each. 2) Is it better to have fewer long canes or more shorter canes? Eg. 2 canes, 8 feet long each or 4 canes, 4 feet long each? Total cane lenght each (mature) plant of 16 feet. 3) General advice it to trim trunk at top wire and in next year grow a cane from trunk along top wire and then either cane or spur prune. Right now my trunk has grown up to top wire AND 8 feet along the top wire. Why can’t I just leave the whole thing as one long trunk as opposed to trimming and growing a cane to replace the potion of trunk I cut off. Something to do with the canes fruiting better right? I am going to experiment with different growing options and cane vs spur pruning. Given that I have multiple trunks I will probably try both cane and spur pruning for each plant as well as laying down the trunk vs leaving trunk exposed during winter. Now onto my training questions. I have several options. As metioned it is a Geneva double curtain running north-south with a east wire and a west wire. Option A) 1 trunk growing up to east wire and growing cane 8 feet north with other trunk growing up to east wire and growing cane 8 feet south. I would alternate plants, eg the next plant in the row will grow on the west wire. Option B) 1 trunk growing up to east wire and growing cane 4 feet north with 2nd trunk growing up to east wire and growing cane 4 feet south. 3rd trunk growing up to west wire and growing cane 4 feet north with 4th trunk growing up to west wire and growing cane 4 feet south. Option C) 1 trunk growing up to east wire with 4 foot canes growing north AND south. 1 trunk growing up to west wire with 4 foot canes growing north AND south. What do you think?

I just read the recap...and I also had the same thoughts.....but.....I don't think Erika is winning immunity challenges, finding idols....liked as much as Xander and Ricard. Erika might win..... After watching one of the Ponderosas, I don't remember which season.....it came to light that the tribe discussed who they were voting for long before they asked any questions at the last tribal....that people at Ponderosa could influence each other based on conversations that never aired.

Here’s the thing - you have to find out the actual size of the tiles vs. the nominal size. It’s important in order to determine whether the two sizes will work together - as shown in your photo. Example : Bedrosian Cloe tile has a 2.5 x 8 tile that works with their 5” tiles. The actual size for the 2.5 x 8 tile is 2.55 x 7.87. The actual size of the 5” tile is 5.19”. These tiles are MODULAR TILES = made to fit together with their grout joints. This allows the two different sizes to mixed together OR the rectangular tile to be installed in a basket weave pattern, for example. The actual size of the tiles allows for the grout lines to line up ( 3 of the tiles stacked horizontally + two very small grout lines = the length of one tile vertically). Here is a photo of a completely random mix of Cloe 2.5“ x 8“ tiles with Cloe 5” tiles: here is a close up: As you can see - you can mix these two sizes up however you’d like. They use a 3/32” grout line = 0.09. I think Bedrosian recommends a 3/16” grout line for Cloe - but many people on Houzz have installed them butted up to each other (due to their uneven sides) - probably is close to 3/32”. 2 rectangular tiles + grout line = 1 square tile = 2 x 2.55 + .09 = 5.19” 3 rectangular tiles stacked + 2 grout lines = 1 square tile + 1 rectangular tile + 1 grout line = 3 x 2.55 + .18 = 5.19 + 2.55 + .09 = 7.83” 2 square tiles + 1 rectangular tile + 2 grout lines = 1 square tile + 3 stacked rectangular tiles + 3 grout lines = 2 x 5.19 + 2.55 + .18 = 5.19 + 3 x 2.55 + .27 = 13.11” Equipe manufactures Cloe tiles (and for other retailers). They have tiles that are available in various sizes - depending upon which collection (the Cloe tiles are the same as Equipe’s Artisan collection). You can look at the example photos - and do a search of the photo to find other retailers who sell the same tiles (example, Ivy Hill sells a couple different Equipe manufactured tiles - they are probably modular tiles also = will work mixing different sizes).

I like pretty much all the TAR teams. I’m not a huge fan of Cesar & Ricky, who have had the lead 3 times now. They seem overly confident, and I don’t see them as all that capable above the others really. I also didn’t get why Danny’s Mom kept insisting she could do all the challenges either, when she didn’t seem suited for them. Maybe you’re correct, schoolhouse, and Danny is keeping his turn until the end. Not that I think he can do better at any of the physical challenges.
