A question about chicken breasts

I don't eat chicken often, but will occasionally buy a roast chicken from Costco, as I did today - it got me thinking.......

When you order a chicken breast at the butcher or in a restaurant, is it one or both halves of that area of muscle of the chicken? In my mind, the breast is divided by a large keel bone (the sternum), but then I started to wonder if what consumers (and butchers, and restaurants) consider a "chicken breast" is just on one side.......Do chickens have one breast, or two?
