12/17 Survivor finale plus news

It's time for the finale. Who will win it all?

BUT be prepared. Because of a nationally broadcast speech at 9 PM EST, the finale will be interrupted. I have heard that it all simply be delayed and pick up again after the speech, but I cannot confirm. I do not know how this will affect other time zones. I image that the West Coast will not be affected.

Well, that was fun, even with the break after the first hour (I did dishes and cleaned the kitchen). And I like the winner.

With 4 immunity challenge wins...I think she deserved to WIN EVERYTHING! Yay! I really liked the whole cast and their devotion to one another. It was a great season. Sorry to see them go. I can't wait to see how Rhizo AND Savannah do in season 50. Interesting cast they assembled.

Well as I figured, I'm up a little - 1.4 lbs. They presented the first part of the new program yesterday. I took the new test, and still ended up at the same points per day (21). Some folks came out down, and the fella in the group ended up with a total of 41 per day!!!! He's like 6'2" and still on the heavy side, and on the new test, men automatically get 6 more points per day than women, just for being male. He said he was going to stick to the lower number he was already doing, anyway. Core has a bit of a change on snacking also. They are no longer allowed to eat any core for a snack; there is a list of 'free core foods' for snacking; otherwise, if they eat something not on the approved snack list, they use the Flex point system up to 35 per week. I'm refocusing myself this week to do a few things better. 1) Journal!!! If I bite it, write it!!! (I got off track a bit on this. 2) Fruits/veggies!!! I'm ok here but need to keep up 3) Dairy!!! have not been great on this so it can't hurt to give it a bit of focus. Anyway --- DD is sick with the cough I had a few weeks ago so I'm working from home today. Depending on how she feels and what the doc says, I hope to get a bit of rest today too. After driving to memphis, spending a day in the hospital with Daddy, and driving back, I'm tuckered out.

I thought Dawson was going to jump on Jeff and drag him into the bushes when he came into camp to check on the sick girl. The poor girl could have been dying and all Dawson wanted was a smooch with Jeff well maybe a little more than a smooch. Wonder what his new wife thought about that face grab and kiss he got LOL He was shocked for sure. I really did think she was going to turn around and shout out about the football player, guess that kiss just clouded her thoughts lol. Malcolm and Denise both seem to be fitting in well to the new tribes I am glad I hope they both hang in there for a while. Abi is on her own island and it is called creepy psycho island. Speaking of Jeff I have watched a few of his new talk shows and really enjoyed them, he seems like a really nice guy, very down to earth. And his wife is beautiful.

Which leads to muscle twitching. Which leads to me not being able to stand on a balance beam or all the endurance games that we had this season or the stand on a tiny perch in the middle above the water."

Well, I'm sorry my pick Elaine didn't win, but glad Noura didn't either. In my opinion, Dean should have won. Seems like most votes were based on the social aspect only. My daughter is the new family champion because she picked Tommy to win, grrrrr! I can only strongly hope that Sandra is the first to go, then Boston Rob. I'm so glad Elaine and Janet got money, that was awesome. Too bad batsh!t crazy Noura got anything. Another good reason to not take someone like her to the end, they get rewarded way more than the jury. Diane nj, totally agree, I hope I never see or hear Karishma again!

I was never a Rizzo fan, he just gets on my nerves for some reason. So was glad to see him not in contention. I do think if Soph had used her Advantage to take his Idol, she might have received another vote, due to strategic play. As it was, I didn't see much successful strategy from her.

I liked Soph, but due to editing, sure got tired of her "lost puppy" descriptor after awhile. And then she dragged it back out at Finale.

For the game, there should have been no other winner than Savannah in my opinion.

This season was the closest I came to watching Survivor, and I came in late. I’m kind of regretting that I didn’t get sucked in years earlier. (It’d take one monumental binge to catch up, huh?) I wasn’t liking Savannah when I joined but she grew on me and I think she absolutely deserved it.

Rizo gets on my nerves, too. He seems to think that his getting to the final four was important to all of Albania, so I hope they’re having a good day.

“And now Rizo’s fire starting to grow…“ well after Savannah’s win, that cracked me up.

I'm still mad about Steven leaving. He was my favorite. Sophi blew it last time by NOT getting rid of Rhizo, who was on my very last nerve. I can't believe he's on the 50th. Why? He's not that good, just obnoxious. Savannah deserved it, but she wasn't my favorite either. I can see why she will be on the 50th. Sophi sure went far from her beginning, and winning the last challenge was amazing.

Any thoughts on the observation that players who do well in some challenges needing intense concentration tend to this who practice yoga a lot? It seems obvious, looking back.

Lily, I think Rizo got the Season 50 call because he loves the game, plays it all-out, and has an interesting personality. Not because he was good at puzzles or fire making. It was stated early on that the 50 players were chosen because they all had a love of the game.

Maybe all of the others from this season had a life to get back to and couldn't do season 50. Sounds like Savannah got fired last year so she might not be employed. She seems to have trouble getting along with others.

I agree that Savannah deserved it. She tied the record for females winning immunity and killed the fire challenge, but otherwise she was protected by her alliance and her immunities. I wouldn't call her a great player though.
