Depends on recovery, for actual making, but I definitely think there's a turkey pot pie coming. In my dreams I envision making puff--something 2Many and I were getting into before she was ill and I've put off without her--and that would be good use of the leftover butter, but rquires oomph. But I could do biscuits, like my mother did, or half submerged dumplings like a favorite recipe. There are enough leftover roasted vegetables, turkey, gravy. Just dice, sauté some aromatics, add some spices, assemble and bake.

I hate turkey soup and turkey stock, so freeze the carcas and giblets (which are in pieces) for future make ahead gravy. Definitely slice and freeze packets of turkey for future sandwiches.

I have five small peeled and cooked, but hard, whole potatoes left from the mashed. Grated, with turkey crumbs and some of the succotash, should make a great hash. With gravy on the side.

I'll freeze the leftover pie in 3-portion pieces. What I don't know how to handle is the grapes. I forgot to serve them. I suppose I could make grape juice....

Haven’t tried this yet but it was part of an email this morning. I always make plenty of cranberry sauce.

Cranberry Swirl Pound Cake

We send everyone home with a meal and keep only enough for ourselves, only two of us! Except we seem to have a lot of cranberry sauce and gravy from Whole Foods. I think I can use the cranberry sauce with a pork tenderloin, and maybe add the gravy to meat loaf or swiss steak or something?

We also sent home and the rest we are finishingvas it. I do like seeing these second life recipes.

No Thanksgiving here but before Christmas I make and freeze raw pastry lids cut out to fit a couple of pie dishes. Pile any leftovers into the dish including any vegetables and sauces. Slather it with left over gravy put the lid on top, bake and voilà, Christmas dinner pie. Turkey curry is also a common left overs meal. Potatoes can be mashed up with other vegetables and made into bubble and squeak or potato cakes. Cranberry sauce is just compote by another name and can be eaten as is or with ice cream. If I'm feeling inclined I might make a hot water crust raised pie with turkey , chicken, goose or ham.

Made a lot of mashed potatoes so I would have leftovers. I love fried potato cakes like my mom used to make. Use mashed potatoes, a couple of green onions, panko bread crumbs, and an egg. Make several patties in your hands, then dust with flour on both sides. Fry in a little oil till you have a crispy outside. Sooo good.

NOw I need a leftover mashed sweet potato recipe. May do sweet potatoes same as mashed potatoes.

Is that cranberry relish w orange? Can you point me to your recipe?

With the left over mashed potatoes I make Italian Shepherds Pie. In a 10" round by 6" tall casserole dish put a pound of cooked hamburger with 1/4 cup pasta sauce on bottom. Layer of mozzarella cheese. Then a layer of mashed potatoes. Then Mozzarella cheese on top. 1 cup pasta sauce on top of that.

We'll make hot turkey sandwiches smothered in gravy. Or...top a chef salad with diced turkey. Or...sour cream enchiladas.

We don't do Thanksgiving here but we have turkey at Christmas. Back when I used to do a whole turkey there was always the problem of what to do with the leftover meat from the legs, as none of us was a big fan of dark meat and it tended to be a little dry as well. I would dice it up very small and make turkey burritos with enchilada sauce, cheese and lettuce. It was a post Christmas staple for years.

We do like turkey stock so I often bring home the extended family Christmas turkey bones to add to my own turkey bones for stock, as no one else uses them. The rest of the meat goes to sandwiches or turkey Divan, a family favourite.

I share out the ham I take to our extended family Christmas Eve dinner and the rest goes in sandwiches, quiches, omelettes and the freezer for later. The bone makes stock for future winter soups (it's summer here). Last year my gorgeous grandson was 18 months old, and during DD, DSIL and his stay here he went nuts for the leftover ham. DD texted the other day to say DGS had asked "Grandma ham?" so I reassured her that the ham was ordered :-D Our local butcher smokes his own hams and they are not cheap, but soooo good. He smokes his own bacon as well and that's all I buy.

A grandson with discernment. ;) Already he knows that Grandma's is best. :D

I only brought home the bit of stuffing left on the table (there's another container), and just now I took a big pinch. It looks a bit different, but even cold out of the fridge it tastes like my mother's. SO good!

But I think dinner will be soup from TJ's.

We had an early TG (the twins are on their way to Disneyland!), so we used the last of the prime rib in a chili. We made an apple/cranberry stuff that everyone loved , but had some leftover, so we got a turkey breast and blended the cranberry/apple stuff and did a roll up for the 2 of us. Delish! My only regret is probably no soup.

Turkey vegetable soup is wonderful.

I just finely chop a whole sweet orange or tangerine (minus any seeds) and mix it with about 3-4 cups fresh cranberries, a little water and enough sugar to make it taste good and simmer until cooked through. I mash the berries with a potato masher, and that's it - very simple and yummy.

Petalique, my cranberry relish is this: bag cranberries, one whole orange and one whole lemon--peels included (pits removed, lol) chopped in food processor. Sugar to taste. That's it and it's always a huge hit.

Ocean Spray had the recipe on the back of their whole fresh cranberries for decades. Two ways to make it.

Compote: One bag, meat from one orange, one cup sugar, one cup water. Boil water and sugar, add orange and cranberry , gently simmer until berries pop and sauce thickens. Cool.

Relish: Chop tiny in electric chopper of some kind, one bag berries, rind from one orange. mix with one cup sugar. Let steep for at least 24 hours.

The compote can be frozen for later not sure about the relish. Doubt it will keep it's integrity.

We make turkey bobo: Sautee one onion in a pan add chopped turkey and gravy, add a can of mushroom soup, salt and pepper, warm through served over the mashed potatoes.

Since we smoke our turkey the carcus makes THE BEST soup stock. Late January early February turkey vegetable soup will hit the spot! I will freeze the dressing and ham and sweet potato casserole in portions DH and I will be happy to reinvent this winter.

I make a large pot of cranberry sauce, adding diced apples, pears, golden raisins, a small amount of orange juice and zest, and some sugar. I freeze pint containers for use all year round. Nothing better on a turkey or chicken burger come grilling season. For sweet ptatoes, if they are just baked and unsugared, I have a recipe for a sweet potato crumbcake. I send most of the turkey leftovers home with DD1, but I do make turkey soup with the carcass.
