Weird thing, arriving in Seattle last week, my son's and my bags were not on the carousel - while heading to the Alaska airlines baggage desk we spotted an airport worker who randomly had our bags and gave them to us, no questions. .. so I'd say make your bag unique ? Sunflower stickers ?

I had a giant 2 wheeled softsider I used when flying so I’d have extra room to bring things home. I didn’t use it often, but the wheels started not moving so freely. A couple of times it tipped over while ’parked’. DH bought me a 4 wheeled spinner. I can move it around with one or two fingers. Big improvement! My son(26) has a 2 wheeled duffle thats pretty big, but Star Wars themed. Probably not your style.

Three things. I love the pocket inside my Walmart purchased luggage that is made for bathing suits, and other wet things. LOVE! It has two wheels. I don't think that's very hard to find.

I too hate to check baggage and often use a backpack. It's high-end, but not nearly as nice as the one you linked to for your daughter lat62. That is gorgeous!

I just use a gigantic purple ribbon on my luggage, stickers not necessary. I would be afraid stickers would fall off.

We have two wheel soft cases and when they finally fall apart we're getting four wheelers. Two wheels tip over easily when parked, especially if you have another bag looped around the handles. And yes. Lots of ribbons on the handles. You can't see stickers from all angles. Depending on the airline we usually have to check a bag when we're away for a few weeks. The underseat bags are too small and overhead bags work out more expensive.

Yup, I travel for a month at a time, so carry-on size isn't going to cut it. I want a 2 wheeler for my bigger, heavier bag because the 4 wheel spinners don't stay still when parked unless the floor is perfectly flat. That's important to me, obviously less so for others because 2-wheeled luggage is hard to find (that's why I've used wheeled duffel bags). So my carry on is a spinner, and my large checked bag is a 2-wheeler.

I like the four wheel spinners because they are easier on my shoulders. They ”walk” along beside you instead of being pulled behind. I agree that the spinners can run away, though. There are videos of spinners escaping on the tarmac!

I wonder if any of them have brakes, although that might add to the weight and decrease interior room.

I'd hit up TJMaxx or Marshall's, they always have a bunch of luggage for reasonable prices.

Running away is not an aspect I'd thought of. I also like being able to pull a case behind me. But I'm just fed up with two wheelers falling over.

We're still using 2 wheelers. Ricardo Of Beverly Hills brand.It's not super expensive. The zippers, handles and silky interiors are well made & well thought out. Our largest softside is Dockers brand. I'm thinking we put scuba gear in it...it's really huge!

Looking at it all online I'm not sure they make the old two wheeler stuff any more in the brands I own...?

My husband has a soft side, 2-wheel bag from Rick Steves. He loves it!

I use the carry-on bag that flight attendants use - Travelpro. I have two of these, a 22" and a 20".

I always carry-on my bag vs. checking it. I have spent a month at a time in Europe with a carry-on. There are laundry facilities all around the world - at least the places I go, and I would rather take an hour and do laundry than haul around a huge bag, and risk that it won't arrive where I'm going. Went to Europe a few years ago, and three of us used carry-on. One person checked a huge bag, and when we arrived in Oslo, his bag didn't. It took the airline four days to deliver the bag.

I also only use two-wheeled bags. Because I'm doing carry-on, four-wheeled bags take up some of the interior space.

Interesting, because I specifically like 4 wheel carry-ons because they can roll nicely down the plane aisle ahead of me, so I can lift them into a bin easier.

This thread is truly a wealth of "one size doesn't fit all". I've done 4 weeks in Italy with only a carry on - I know it can be done, but I don't like to do it :)

TV, I intentionally only use two-wheeled bags because I'm not checking a bag, and I want to maximize the interior space. I don't want to lose interior space for two additional wheels. Pulling my bag down the plane aisle is no big deal for me for the extra space my bag has by not having four wheels. And if I need help hoisting it into the overhead bin, which I generally don't need help with, there is always someone nearby who has lended a hand.

I'm a 'minimalist' traveler. I only take exactly what I know I'm going to need and wear. I've traveled enough to know what those items are. I never bring the "just in case" item or "I may want to wear that" item. If I get somewhere and discover I've forgotten a key item, I just buy it. I was in Norway a few years ago and overlooked bringing an umbrella. I just popped in a store and bought one. It was small so was easy to put in my bag on my return home. And if it hadn't fit, I would just leave it behind.

Two-wheeled vs. four-wheeled - it's really just a matter of personal preference. I prefer to be able to put what I need in my bag vs. the convenience of maneuvering it around. If two-wheels maximizes the interior space because there isn't a wheel in every corner of the bag, that is more important to me. I'm fine with pulling it behind me.

I have a soft- sided (but incredibly sturdy!) 2 wheel Samsonite carryon that I adore. I just poked around online and they must no longer make it. It is similar to the bags you see some flight staff use. It has served me very well for some time. I don't even see anything similar - seems spinners are way more common now. Good luck!
