Did you see Jimmy Kimmel's eulogy of his life-long friend and leader of the band "Cleto and the Cletones"? I found it wholesome, earnest, touching-- a story of a friendship that encompassed both families.
One thing I love about him is his loyalty and commitment to his pre-fame friends and his family. He employs a lot of them-shaing his good fortune. I have the episode recirded but haven’t yet watched it.
I didn't know this story about him and his childhood friend, but I loved hearing about it. I have always like Jimmy Kimmel because of his love for family and friends. I think he is an excellent comedian and talk show host. You can tell how much he loves his family and his life in show business. All the people that work for him are characters in their own right and very funny too. Such a pleasure to watch his show.
I don’t watch Kimmel but saw the eulogy online in a Yahoo News email. Curious what happened to Cleto. Sounded like he was hospitalized for a few months.
I love Kimmel and watch him every night, as well as Colbert. I jump between them. I always knew of the friendship of Cleto and Jimmy, but I wasn't aware of him being ill. The band is always there with Cleto and his dad, but there is only sometimes conversation between Jimmy and Cleto. I wondered last Thursday when a rerun was put on, and it was supposed to be current, as the whole week was. He must have taken a turn for the worse then and died yesterday. We should all be as lucky to have a friendship like that. You'd have to be stonehearted not to tear up from that sad monologue, and his parents were there. I think Kimmel is off the rest of the week.
