Tetanus shots

Does everybody here get one about every 10 years?

I was thinking about this the other day and wondered if people who don’t ordinarily get vaccinated would bother with a tetanus shot. I don’t know how common tetanus is it probably depends on what country and what location and what environment. But it doesn’t look like tetanus is a very nice thing to be afflicted with should you not get the shot and have some sort of an infection from a puncture or whatever .

I used to think it was from rusty nails because when I was a kid and my family was working on a camp we had to pull up stakes and drive my mom about 15 miles or so to a hospital where she could get treated for a nail she stepped on and that punctured her foot, she needed a tetanus shot I guess that was routine then

When people are in car and other accidents, I think the first thing they get in the emergency room is a tetanus shot.

So I was wondering, what about migrant laborers who work in agricultural fields? Are they given tetanus shots? If they work around any soil or where any farm animals have been I believe they are at a higher risk.

What about undocumented workers that work in agricultural fields in the US ? Do they just not know about it or cannot get it or nobody is looking out for them?

Do you think that most people that might not read a lot of aware of getting a tetanus shot if they do not seek regular and routine medical care from a family doctor?
