American Lady or Painted Lady?
Comments (5)Sherry, thank you so much for the ID and for the explanation of how you determine the difference. I didn't locate a photo of the wing underside and the photos of the top side of both Ladies looked very similiar to me. I agree, the underside is so colorful and different. I could hardly believe the difference when it spread its little wings and I could see the back. Going to go and correctly tag the photos right now. And thank you for the nice compliments on the photos. A picture is, indeed, worth a thousand words, especially when you're trying to ID these little guys. Got my two Passi incarnata vines planted out yesterday and hope to see a gulf frit one day, too. I planted them in a big pot and am using a wooden teepee trellis over the pot. I've never seen this vine grow so don't know if it will be enough trellis but time will tell. My garden is small and I didn't want to have it coming up in unusual spots! Hopefully, the vine roots are hardy enough that it can overwinter in the pot. Are you guys getting some of this very hot weather? Heat index here today is supposed to be between 105-110. Comments (3)WOW!!! I didn't realize that there were so many books available and Rainbow Gardens sure has a lot of them. Thanks for the link. I'm in South Florida (Ft Lauderdale area) so I know I can grow a big variety of succulents here. I'm doing to try and get in touch with any cactus/succulent societies down here. There's Fairchild Gardens in Miami and others in Homestead, but those are quite a drive for me. Guess I'll try the Agricultural Center here in Broward County to see if there are any closer. Thanks again for the Rainbow link. Loretta...See MoreRecomend local (Good) nurseries Please

Comments (14)I thought I posted this already but maybe I didn't hit the "submit" button. (Or was it another thread?...) Anyway, when shopping for a builder, whether they're modular or site-built, it helps to have a simple plan and list of features in hand when getting estimates. Even if it's not the precise plan you end up with, if all builders give an estimate based on that plan, you will be comparing apples with apples. If, as is usually the case, you meet 12 builders that give you a price on 12 different houses, you won't have a true basis of comparison. It's only natural that they will try to sell you on a house that they know they can build efficiently, rather than the house that you want.
