Wise advise indeed, Seil! Lots of us northerners have been through brutal winters followed by our old nemisis by which I mean cycles of disappointing spring thaws followed by chilly temps which included dreadfull wind chill factors to make growing our favorite plants (which are roses of course! :-)) all the more challenging. In past years I have been frequently been pleasantly surprised by roses that I've thought were gonners fully reviving into satisfying plants that have gone on to give me years of joy! Rosarians know that roses are FAR much tougher and easier to grow than many nonrosarians know! I'm gratefull that this spring in Spokane, WA has seen some nice and toasty days up to 70 F so far!! :-)

1. I have had success back flushing the oil tank at the oilâÂÂs port at the bar with cheap solvents (paint thinner, etc) to try to rem restricting sawdust etc. 2. If all fails and the manual oiler is not working on the saw, add oil as needed with a pump can or into the cut. 3. I was taught to treat the saw as if the oilier is not working; a sign of oil is my goal. 4. Manually adding oil is not bad if a saw is running well and just need bar oil. 5. Many people use their used motor oil at this point, I use the cheap bar oil, Opinoins!!

Vultures and the like are pretty awesome birds! We are getting gobs of turkey vultures right now, and I saw a flock of black vultures over on the east side of Phoenix hanging out in a Best Buy parking lot lol. Up in the northern part of the state is o e of the locations where they have released California condors, in Marble Canyon. I've been wanting to make a trip up that way but its a long drive. We also get the crested caracara, which is actually a type of falcon. They are not nearly as common here as in Texas though.

Snowing now, but I have more seeds to plant in the raised beds, so later this week. (Early, hardy ones - beets and spinach are in, lettuce needs to go in.) I want to finish a setup in the chicken tractor, and clean out the hen house. Cleanup means it will have to be above freezing, as poo adheres to the flooring when frozen. (Y'know, I bought each chicken her own roll of TP... you think they'd use it... nope.) I have a patio cart to assemble - it has two wheels and an interior compartment, and a cutting surface. I have some wire shelving to assemble for the basement. Maple syrup tapping to be checked on, and to add in a couple more taps. More boxes from having moved to go unpack. When it gets warm enough, a deck to stain. Maybe start the cherry tomatoes indoors if I can find a good spot where the cats won't think it's a new litter box. Put a rooster in the freezer. All things I have to do anyway.
