OHHHH!!! I got it.

The fold is not part of the quiz. That is the newspaper. If I flattened it out you would see the answer. I was thinking of posting the answer as it's been a while, now I'm curious as to what the fold might mean :-)

I also thought the fold was significant. That gave me an answer.

ohhh unintentional fold, that may negate my answer.

Now I’m thinking of a quinquennial test.

Just looked at this and I thought “Lop a bit off the end.”

Yeah I originally thought lop off the edge.

Then I thought of a polyp, possibly in the bottom, hence my quinquennial test comment. Kinda the same logic as Apollo if you ask me!

Well Jasdip - I am just so destroyed as I was sure I finally got one of these puzzles. 🥺 My guess was Lop a bit off the bottom. Same meaning as roxsol but different word. And as for FOAS, what the heck? ”quinquennial”?? I had to look that one up. I did know 5 was in the meaning but…

ETA - Jasdip, meant to say I’d have never guessed Apollo even without the unintentional fold.

ETA again - just saw food’s note - that’s really a stretch for quinquennial….🤣

I was thinking, ”Cutting edge” after thinking, ”Lop off the side” was too obvious. Thanks again.

At first, i was trying to make lopsided work, even though it wasn’t on the side (bottom side…?) but I settled on “lopped off”, which works even without the fold.

Seems that most of us had the same solution idea because of the ’distortion’ of puzzle that the fold made. I think that’s pretty interesting!

I think it’s ”low” as in A pol low (in square) 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had to dig my way down to that answer in spite of my brain hurting from the hopeful answer. For naught. I dont actually expect to get these.
