How can I remove coffee stains?

from white sheets?

I am trying to remember how this happened. I thinks a had a full cup of coffee on a tray while I was watching morning news. I think.

Then I forgot about the tray and coffee when I began to sneeze and reached for a tissue.

I bet I should have dunked everything into a tub of cold water. Or hung it out to get rained on.

I did not. It dried. It is calling for me.

What? Cold water and lots of Oxyclean powder in the washing machine? To soak for an hour? A week?

We don't seem to have many food stains ourselves. My worst was in a white carpet and looked tomato based but I still don't know for certain what it was, A Bissell Stomp and Go Pet Stain pad removed every bit of it after I'd tried all I could think of

including my upright carpet cleaner which will typically do a very complete job.

But back to the food stains. Mother had some tremor and often had food stains on favorite pieces of clothing. She preferred I take her nicer things to the laundry on her floor rather than have staff do them (she liked her clothing hung and staff would fold).

I bought a bottle of the Oxy Max Force and it was surprisingly effective. I'm not sure I remember anything really soaked in coffee but coffee drips were nearly daily and quite temporary. Mom was pretty vain about her clothing and its condition, she would never have been happy with stains.

Consensus seems to be to rub liquid detergent into the stain then soak for a few hours in water with a couple of tablespoons of vinegar added to it. I'd probably do it overnight.

Rent a power washer and blast the area with water. You might get a brush and some concrete cleaner (for driveways) and scrub the stains if they persist.

Were you instructed to purchase all 4 cleaning and maintenance products??? You would do very well to have the refinisher come in and (purchase all products from him/her) show you how to maintain your floors. You will probably pay $50/hour for this 1-2 hour tutorial. You and the refinisher will work these spots together and apply the finish oil to bring back the original look. And then you will learn your weekly, monthly and yearly maintenance requirements for an oiled floor. As pretty as these floors are, they take work. Much more work than a polyfinished floor.

For stubbirn stains, I put in the clothes, then I dissolve a double or triple dose of oxyclean in my front load, by starting the machine (I use warm so it dissolves) and then I stop the machine and put it on delayed start, a couple hours up to 12. Then I add detergent to the dispenser and just let it soak, then run it normally.

For tough stains I spray with OxyClean Max Force, rub it in, let it sit for a few hours then soak in OxyClean powder. Olychick mentioned letting the Oxyclean powder dissolve…yes!

Thanks. I am trying witn the Oxycl spry on the pantleg first. I think it’s working. Next I will try rinsing white sheet area in cold water. Then soaking in a lot of dissolved Oxyclean.

If that doesn’t work, I will do the detergent-vinegar treatment

Next trial after that is just give up. Ha.

Or, I could cook them for dinner after checking with the authorities.

Lesson learned. No super full cups of coffee too early in the morning.

PS funny, I used to be better at figuring out how to get atains out of things. For example, red wine or mustard — the oxygen bleach works really well. Now I see it’s being marketed under various names.

I have to use the Oxyclean Free because I cannot tolerate the scent of the spray on spot removers. They stay with the garment and infuse into the washer and dryer, I swear, because I can smell it on other things, too.
