Is there more than one of you with this name? I’m getting confused with who is posting what.

My guess is it’s houzz’s new generic name for users, as opposed to the former HU-#######, or whatever it was. I seem to remember that Ole Joyful had been stuck with one of those generic screen names. He, at least, usually id’s himself in his posts, as he did in the recent one usung BBP.

ETA: So, yes, I think we’ll be seeing more than one poster under that name. That could get not only confusing, but unfortunate, should someone choose to play games with it.

Yeah, I think it is used by more than one entity. Often by spammers, too.

But why is that recent post signed by ”ole joyful’? I was confused about that & wondered if he had 2 login names or was having trouble.

I think that is Old Joyful, maybe? He lost his sign in and now has that name come up - he's a sweet old guy who usually posts on the Kitchen Table. Not sure if that moniker is randomly assigned by houzz to others, like the H numbers.

@bpath Will extending the kitchen into the dining room allow for an island big enough to have seating on one side? It still seems too narrow. Regarding the sunroom, this is my childhood home that I inherited when my parents passed away. We spent a lot of quality time in there with my parents, so it has great sentimental value to us to leave as is. I should also mention, it's technically the deck that has been closed in, so it doesn't have central heat or AC. For the kids' study, it's not a necessity that they actually study in there, but it would be ideal for there to be one place to keep all of their books and supplies, charge their laptops, etc. Cabinets in the new dining room could solve that. Considering they are in 6th and 7th grade, it's probably smarter not to put a permanent solution in place for a temporary issue. You make good points about aging in place. We hadn't planned to have everything solved for the future, but thought we were thinking ahead by adding the shower now. We want to ideally keep two dining areas because we like to entertain as a family, so we'd like areas for the kids and adults to eat and congregate separately.

If you are on a computer, in the upper right hand corner, you should see "Your Houzz". Click on that. Then choose "Edit Profile and Settings". Then you should be able to edit your user name. I don't see why Houzz can't assign random arbitrary names like my kids' gaming xbox used to do. They had names something like Fast Pirate or Ginger Panda. At least they're memorable and distinguishable.

Note that Ole Joyful’s account is set up as a pro account. I'm guessing that's what drives this generic name.

And his thread is is still here, just a little lower on the page. "Family legacy."

This is the difference between the two poster’s ID pages.

The only difference that I can see is one says US and the other one is blank. The history of their posts are different as well. I see that one is ”ole joyfuelled”.

Hmm, I think letters is right. It’s just the former HU #####, and LOL,but even more confusing. 🤷‍♀️

In another recent thread the BNP user - not the ole joyfuelled one - commented that s/he was unable to change their user name & had been trying to. I found one BNP with Canada as country & one like above that has no country affiliation.
