Windows 10 Support Going Forward

last month

Microsoft has said that Windows 10 would no longer be supported with updates after April of this year. I'd read somewhere that there was an offer to extend the sunset period by one year for $30ish. Does Microsoft reach out with this offer, or do I have to seek this out?

I'd prefer to keep Windows 10 as some of my most used software is not W11 compatible even though my PC is. I'd prefer to not have to switch to a "software as a service" with an annual subscription fee.

Also, I remember reading some time ago that fewer than 1/3 of the Microsoft computers had made the switch and/or were capable of upgrading to W11.

TIA
