Comments (38)I am back and fully rested and tan. We had the most gorgeous weather. I actually read 3+ books - I finished Eat Pray Love, I read a book by Ellen DeGeneres (it was like her monologues), Water for Elephants which I totally loved, and The Red Tent - which I also totally loved. I quickly went through the posts and want to send (((((HUGS))))) to all. ((((((SUZANNE)))))) I am so sorry to hear about Blue - I had hopes of him hanging in there longer. I know how much all your animals mean to you, but there seemed to be a real bond with you and Blue. (((((DONNA)))) I am so sorry about your sister, but happy to hear your mom is getting some help. I know it is very frustrating for you to be supportive under these circumstances. You deserve to be able to live your own life and don't ever feel like you are a bad person - we all know you aren't. Patti - ((((HUGS to you and Dave)))) - I am so sad that he still has to struggle with his past. Marci - cute Ground Hogs Day story. I got to see Joe Namath when I was about 18. He was going to visit an orphanage near where I lived and his limo pulled into town - a very odd site back in those days. He had the window opened and waved to me. I used to love him, so he totally made my summer. I just read the magazine New York and found out he was from PA. Besh/BJ - I just heard about a book called "Does This Clutter Make my @ss Look Big" - LOL - I have to get it. BJ - when do you leave? I hope I didn't miss you. Glad to see you posted - I know your plate was running over. Whenicit - I will keep my fingers crossed that the house is sold. This vacation was my motivation - I hated looking at myself in my bathing suit each morning! Dee - Saratoga in the Spring sounds wonderful to me! I can't wait. My DD introducted me to a drink called Caparenia - very much like a mojito and very much my new favorite drink. I got a kick out of your emails - thanks. Here is the List so far - if you are not included and want to be, please let me know. I will match up the names on Tuesday: Unbirthday List Marci Patti Raeanne BJ Dee Donna Suzanne Milkdud Maddie Hello to all that I missed - but my laundry is calling me and it is Sunday. Missed you....See MoreSS Support - Mon. 10/15 thru Sun. 10/21
Comments (33)B: 1 egg, 2 egg whites, deli salsa, grilled corn omelet, coffee S: coffee and a granola lemon bar (my friend was an HOUR late-grrrrr-so I got hungry and chose the most healthy thing I could find in the coffee shop case; what a waste of calories!) L: 1 cup cottage cheese mixed with finely diced tomatoes, green onions, cilantro, and spicy spices S: 10 pretzels D: Taco salad: 1/3 c refried beans, 1/8 c. shredded cheese, lot of shredded lettuce, tomato, ¼ c cottage cheese, salsa, 120 cal worth of baked chips on top. S: Arg. Lays Baked BBQ chips, 2 handfuls, and a ½ c of fritos. I hate having chips in the househate it! Salty snacks call to me. S to redeem myself: one red delicious apple. ----------------------- Marci~ It must have been the moon or something. I went on a snack hunt as well yesterday. Did some damage, but am back on track today. ...That's a cool pic you took, but I can see the damage the algae does. It's sounds like a nightmare to try and get rid of! Too bad someone can't harvest it and market it as a health food. JEN!!!!!! Start posting your menus NOW that Tara is better. I know when a kid is sick, hard hard it is to stay on track! You're tired and then fixing carb-y foods for sick kids is SO tempting. Is there anything more enticing than the smell of baking bread or toasting toast? :) Just start over...TODAY! I'm lining up all my pairs of boots to kick you in the hind-end...and I have a quick a few pairs! DeeMarie~ That endo appt sounds like REAL KINDA FUN!---not! We better ALL light a candle for your other tooth. You have a great attitude about it tho'. It's sounds like you're going to healthfood boot camp at work! Bon Voyage!!! NHSuzanne: I'm curious. Do you guys get ticketed if you don't take care of the noxious weeds? I have some property up north and if I don't clear the Canadian Thistle every spring, the fines start! The county fines people a 100 or more dollars a day for noxious weed spread. Now that's motivation to do yard work, eh? Needless to say, I've never gotten fined. We're expected to have a hella wind storm tonight. Remember last year when we were out of power for days? They're saying this one won't be as bad. That was a 10 and this is supposed to be a 7. I'm bringing in wood today and getting the candle and flashlights ready. And we're all sleeping downstairs tonight. There are 200 foot trees next to my house and they DO fall occasionally! If I'm not on tomorrow, it'll be because I have no power! Short story: Yesterday, my DD in college called me. She says, "Mom, I have a problem..." Well, I am thinking the worst, but then she tells me that she's babysitting a friend's offspring and that the baby has been crying for 40 minutes. I can hear the baby on her shoulder crying its heart out. 10 minutes later, we finally got the baby quiet--air in tummy or overstimulated; I'm not sure. Dimly lit room and some pats on the back, pressure on the tummy, etc---but talking my DD through that baby's crying spell gave me the strangest feeling. Now I know how my mom felt when I called her with my colicy babies! It's tough not to BE there to help! Is Raeanne on her wine tour in CA already? And where's Maddie? Patti? Tikanas? JOHN???????? Halloween is almost here, so let's get motivated to step away from the candy. Anyway, have a great day and stay safe!...See MoreDaily support Mon 10/25 to Sun 10/31
Comments (8)Okay...this is ridiculous.... 6 posts for the whole week? We need to get some renewals here and start getting our old gang going again. I was driving down the road thinking how sad it would be if, after all these years, this group wasn't here for each other. Everyone is going through transitions and is busy, but this is the place we keep coming back to. What can we do? I vote for a questionaire to get to know each other's recent happenings... Questions about marital status, kids, pets, farm animals, likes, dislikes, pet peaves, food, favorite recipes, vacation destinations, favorite memories, treasures you hold dear, etc. Has FaceBook left our GardenWeb group in the dust? I hope not. :-( It'll be Rabbit/Rabbit on Monday and I hope everyone remembers it's the start of a new month and a reunion of friends here....See MoreDaily Support Monday 10/27 - Sunday 11/2
Comments (41)Good morning! I love waking up 'an hour earlier'...It's sunny but cool this morning, 37F/3C is our high today. Looking outside there is another bash of leaves to rake, sweep off the patio and a few things to finally rip out or cut back in the garden. I weakened last night on the leftover Halloween candy but today is a new day. I did count all the treats on my tracker and they blew yesterday out of the water but looking at the overall weekly bonus points if I can manage to get better at behaving this week and continue to track and 'think' I will eventually get back on this or at the very worst - run out of candy! LOL Either way, I am tracking my points, weighing myself which means I am back at it. I know I can get there - this is just a start. I did gain back 7 pounds over the summer which is why this fall/winter tune-up has been incorporated as part of my lifestyle each year with the remainder of the year being maintenance. On a lighter note 2 positives from deciding to join AA and stop all drinking - it should be easier to maintain my weight because beer in the summer just goes to my hips and abdomen which is an easy 5 pound gain over the summer and the values from AA can be applied to my weight loss goals. The positive reinforcement I get from taking care of that aspect of my life can be applied to my eating better and weight health. I can do this. I know I can. I am still looking forward to my meeting on Tuesday and I will be posting my weight loss weekly, probably on Mondays - so a week this Monday I will report in. As a close friend of mine says - Love and light to you, Peggy...See More- 9 months ago
